London isn’t short on good brunches. But very few come with this level of ultimate indulgence.
The Ultimate Roast Brunch at OXBO Bankside takes everything you love about a classic Sunday and turns it into an unmissable event, with unlimited starters, a decadent roast, bottomless desserts and free-flowing bubbles, all just steps from the Tate Modern and within easy walking distance of the National Theatre and Southbank Centre. If you’re planning a culture-heavy day on the South Bank, this is exactly where you want to refuel.
From the moment we step inside OXBO Bankside, just steps away from the Tate Modern, the atmosphere is buzzy and relaxed – we’re even met with a live acoustic guitar player
From the moment you walk in from the buzz of London’s Bankside, the relaxed tone of this decadent oasis is set: light, airy and effortlessly buzzy, with a live acoustic guitarist in the corner and a mix of families, couples and groups settling in for long, leisurely afternoons. It’s convivial without trying too hard – and it’s not hard to see why no one’s in a rush to leave.

It starts with the Chef‘s Traders Table. Here, you’re invited to help yourself (and go back as many times as you like), with a spread of unlimited appetisers that’s seriously, well, appetising. Fresh, vibrant salads steal the show: trevisano and castelfranco leaves with cheese, mulled wine and saffron-poached fruits, finished with toasted walnuts; a rich chickpea salad; and plump prawns with mango slaw. Add in rare roasted striploin with anchovy butter and manchego, charcuterie, cheeses, tomato tarts and very moreish veggie tortillas, and you’ve got a line-up that’s both indulgent and cleverly low-waste, made using off-cuts that would otherwise go to waste. It’s the perfect grazing table – and all unlimited, too.

As if that wasn’t enough, the open kitchen delivers unlimited brunch classics, made to order – and to perfection. We can confirm that the eggs royale is a standout – perfectly poached eggs with golden, oozing yolks, smoked salmon and a silky béarnaise on a toasted English muffin. You can also order pancakes or waffles piled high with berry compote and whipped cream. And at this point, why wouldn’t you?
The main event is a proper roast – tender, full of flavour, and accompanied by free-flowing wine / Credit: The Luxe Review
The main event here is a proper roast. The beef arrives tender and full of flavour, served with crisp roast potatoes, a Yorkshire pudding and a rich red wine jus. For non-meat eaters, the pumpkin and sage ravioli is a worthy alternative, drenched in a zero-waste cauliflower velouté, topped with charred red onions and shaved truffled Gloucester cheese. It’s not a traditional roast, but undeniably indulgent and a treat for cheese lovers.
Just when you think you’re done, a trip to the dessert table is in order. Fresh blackberry tarts, apple strudel, delicate crème brûlée pots, banana fudge and pineapple upside-down cake are on offer – all beautifully executed, many again championing that low-waste approach. The dangerous part? It’s bottomless. You’ll want one of everything. And trust us, you should.

Drinks are equally generous, with free-flowing prosecco and wine. Glasses are topped up before you even realise they’re empty, and the service strikes that perfect balance – attentive, friendly and completely unpretentious.
For the sheer volume, quality and experience, OXBO Bankside’s Ultimate Roast Brunch feels like exceptional value. Relaxed, indulgent and luxurious without any stiffness, it really is the ultimate unlimited brunch – and one of London’s most satisfying ways to spend a Sunday. We’ll see you at the dessert table.
