Sixty years after Jimi Hendrix first plugged into a Marshall amplifier, the partnership is being celebrated with three newly reimagined pieces of audio and guitar gear.
Marshall has expanded its Marshall x Hendrix Anniversary Collection with limited-edition versions of its Major V headphones, Emberton III portable speaker and hand-built JMH Studio amplifier.
Each product has been given a distinctive Hendrix-inspired makeover, drawing on cosmic imagery and psychedelic visuals. Purple oil-on-water graphics appear throughout, joined by silver detailing and an all-seeing eye motif.

Major V, Emberton III and JMH Studio get experienced
The Hendrix 60th Anniversary Edition Major V takes Marshall’s foldable on-ear headphones and gives them a sleek black finish with subtle references to Hendrix. A purple oil-on-water pattern flows across the inner headband and ear cups, while the all-seeing eye motif provides a further visual link to the anniversary collection.
The Major V retains the long battery life of the standard cans, offering enough listening time to work through a substantial portion of Hendrix’s recorded catalogue before reaching for a charger.
The same purple haze carries over to the Hendrix 60th Anniversary Edition Emberton III. Here, the design runs across the speaker’s silicone sleeve and grille, while a silver all-seeing eye appears on the media control.
Purple LEDs add another splash of colour. The silicone sleeve is hand-dipped using a water-transfer printing process, meaning that each speaker has its own individual pattern.
For guitarists, the centrepiece of this new wave is the Hendrix 60th Anniversary JMH Studio. Built by hand at Marshall’s factory in Bletchley, this portable amplifier reimagines the classic Studio Vintage amp with a more elaborate anniversary finish.
The stack is constructed from plywood and wrapped in black Tolex. Purple and black patterning covers the fret and control panel, while a purple LED indicator adds another Jimi-inspired flourish.
Marshall has also drawn on Hendrix’s distinctive personal style. Intricate silver beading appears around the knobs, handle, logo, grille and back panel, echoing the silver jewellery that became part of his visual identity.
The all-seeing eye badge appears at the top and bottom of the stack, referencing Hendrix’s interest in the third eye and expanded vision.
The Hendrix 60th Anniversary Edition Major V is priced at £129.99, while the Hendrix 60th Anniversary Edition Emberton III costs £149.99. The hand-built Hendrix 60th Anniversary JMH Studio will be available from September 9, priced at £1,749.99.
