If you think wireless headphones can’t deliver audiophile-grade performance, Focal would beg to differ. The French audio outfit has just unveiled the Bathys MG, a new addition to its premium headphone line-up, boasting hi-res drivers, refined aesthetics, and advanced noise-cancelling technology.
At the heart of the Bathys MG are Focal’s latest magnesium speaker drivers, engineered and manufactured in France. These lightweight yet rigid drivers feature the company’s signature ‘M’-shaped domes and are designed to deliver exceptionally rich, natural and detailed sound. From deep, controlled bass to articulate treble, the sound signature has been tuned for clarity and realism, says the brand.
New digital mics in the MG also promise optimised active noise cancelling, with improved sound isolation.
The Focal Bathys MG offers three levels of adaptive noise cancellation: Silent for maximum isolation, Soft for less intrusive environments, and Transparent when you want to remain aware of your surroundings.

Built for audiophiles and built to last
Inspired by the brand’s home reference model, the Clear MG, the new Bathys MG adopt a warm Chestnut finish, paired with a glowing backlit Focal logo. Magnesium and aluminium in the yoke have been chosen for lightness and durability, while the leather headband, and ergonomic foam earpads, ensure comfort with long listening sessions.
When used in USB-DAC mode, the Bathys MG supports high-resolution playback up to 24-bit/192kHz. Wireless connectivity comes via Bluetooth 5.2.
Battery life is impressive. In wireless mode, the cans offer up to 30 hours of uninterrupted listening. Use the 3.5mm jack, and that figure rises to 35 hours. Switch to USB-DAC mode and you’ll enjoy 42 hours of playback.
For those on the go, a quick 15-minute charge delivers an additional five hours of use, ensuring the headphones are always ready when you are.
The partnering Focal & Naim mobile app adds EQ customisation, personal hearing profiles, and control over the noise-cancelling settings. The app also includes a built-in hearing test, allowing users to fine-tune the sound output to their specific hearing profile.
Focal Bathys MG headphones launch this month, priced at £1,199 ($1,299 / AUD$2,300).
