Limited to just 30 bottles, this fragrance is a fabulous fusion of perfume and Cognac

Éclat d’Ombre, Maison Psyché on cognac barrels

Perfume and Cognac. Two crafts built on patience, precision, and the alchemy of aging.  With Éclat d’Ombre, Maison Psyché, the haute parfumerie arm of the Rémy Cointreau Group, has blurred the line between fine spirits and fine fragrance, and in doing so, has crafted something truly unique, a fusion of both arts.

Founded in 2021, Maison Psyché is dedicated to rewriting the rules of luxury fragrance. With its revolutionary Art of Metamorphosis – aging raw essences in Cognac cellars to deepen and refine their profiles – the House is pioneering a new sensorial experience.

Here, Master Perfumer Sophie Labbé and Rémy Martin’s Cellar Master Baptiste Loiseau have collaborated to create a fragrance that doesn’t just evoke the cellar, it’s literally born within it.

A pioneering technique, exclusive to Maison Psyché, allows the perfume’s raw materials to evolve in Rémy Martin’s Cognac barrels…

A pioneering technique, exclusive to Maison Psyché, allows the perfume’s raw materials to evolve in Rémy Martin’s Cognac barrels, infusing the scent with a depth and complexity, rare even in haute parfumerie.

The result? A heady scent that evokes citrus and apricot, oak and earthy moss. At its heart, there’s the floral opulence of Osmanthus and rose, softened by the lingering embrace of barrel-aged notes.

The balance between light and shade, brightness and mystery, is bewitching. The Luxe Review has tried a sample and I can confirm it’s stunning.

Naturally, Éclat d’Ombre’s presentation is just as extraordinary. Housed in a 100ml crystal bottle, each of the mere 30 pieces is numbered and crowned with an 18-carat gold cameo. This is not simply a fragrance, it’s an objet d’art that celebrates exclusivity.

Availability is strictly limited to private appointments at Maison Psyché’s salons in Place Vendôme, Paris, and in Cognac, or through the House’s network of private advisors.
