Samsung is teaming up with Star Trek for a 60th anniversary celebration that will turn parts of London into a holodeck for fans.
Six decades after Star Trek: The Original Series first transported audiences into the final frontier, Samsung is joining the anniversary celebrations with a UK partnership spanning London, Paramount+, and retail.
Samsung’s flagship store at King’s Cross will be central to a wider fan journey around the capital, with special screenings and immersive activity planned for Star Trek Day on September 8.
The date marks 60 years since the original series debuted on September 8, 1966. Since then, Star Trek has grown into one of the world’s most enduring sci-fi franchises.

London to get Star Trek makeover
Over September 7-8, King’s Cross St Pancras and South Kensington Underground stations will receive Star Trek-themed takeovers, as part of a four-location trail around the capital.
Samsung’s King’s Cross flagship will host a special Star Trek Day experience featuring a screening of the first episode of Star Trek: The Original Series, ‘The Man Trap’.
That will be followed by an advance screening of episode eight from Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season four, ‘Orders of Magnitude’. For fans, getting an early look at the latest adventures of the Enterprise crew should be reason enough to make the journey to King’s Cross.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds concludes on Paramount+ on September 24, with a fifth and final season scheduled for 2027.
The Science Museum will provide another major focal point. A free, adults-only Star Trek Lates event on September 8 will form part of a global Vulcan Salute initiative, culminating in an official Guinness World Records attempt to establish the largest number of people performing the Vulcan Salute simultaneously.
Fans around the world will be invited to take part digitally, with the London event providing the physical centre of the record attempt. Free tickets are available for the event here.
Star Trek Anniversary celebrations
Celebrations aren’t restricted to the UK.
In Los Angeles, fans will be able to attend a free outdoor screening at the Autry Museum, while Movie Park Germany will stage its own Star Trek Day celebration with live entertainment, cosplay, special guests and access to its Star Trek-themed attraction. The Gene Roddenberry star on Hollywood Boulevard is also being restored as part of the anniversary celebrations.
On September 7, Entertainment Tonight will present an ET Vault UnlockedStar Trek special featuring interviews with Gene Roddenberry and members of the franchise’s casts, alongside archival behind-the-scenes material from the series and films.
September 8 will see The Price Is Right and Let’s Make a Deal receive Star Trek makeovers, with Strange New Worlds stars Rebecca Romijn and Ethan Peck among the special guests. The episodes will air on CBS and stream on Paramount+.
The animated Star Trek: Scouts also returns to YouTube on September 8 for its second season. The series follows JR, Sprocket and Roo as they train to become Starfleet Explorers.
The Big Bang Theory will offer a Star Trek-themed marathon on Nick at Nite, featuring episodes centred on the franchise, conventions and characters.
Star Trek Anniversary collectables
There’s also a slate of new Star Trek collectables on the cards. The LEGO Icons Star Trek: U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 Bridge set contains 1,701 pieces and recreates the bridge and transporter room from The Original Series. Eight Starfleet minifigures are included; the kit lands September 1.
The Royal Mint will launch two 50p coins on September 3, while DK Publishing’s Star Trek Timelines hardback is due November 17, exploring important events, alternate realities and character journeys across the franchise.
There’s even a new Magic: The Gathering collab arriving on November 13, bringing Star Trek characters and elements from across the franchise into the table-top game.
Unsurprisingly, we’re particularly excited to hear that Star Trek Spirits will launch Original Saurian Brandy. The release is inspired by the distinctive bottle first seen in the ‘The Man Trap’ episode. Can we have Klingon Bloodwine next, please?
