At the heart of every Beosystem 9000c is a restored Beosound 9000 CD player, meticulously sourced and refurbished by Bang & Olufsen’s talented technicians in Struer, Denmark. The original Beosound 9000 was created by Industrial Designer David Lewis, back in 1996.
Each unit has undergone a thorough inspection and restoration process. Building on the original design, Bang & Olufsen’s design team has given this refurb a modern twist, with a striking Cosmic Black finish on the aluminium back plate, juxtaposed with a Natural Aluminium control panel.
Tiina Kierysch, Head of Design at Bang & Olufsen, explains, “We wanted to enhance the graphic edge of Beosound 9000 whilst maintaining the integrity of the original design. To do this, we introduced a Cosmic Black finish to Beosound 9000’s aluminium back plate so that the CDs stand out even more as artworks which was Lewis’ original design intention.”
The Beosystem 9000c not only celebrates design heritage but also showcases Bang & Olufsen’s expertise in aluminium craftsmanship.
Each aluminium element is artfully treated and finished at Bang & Olufsen’s Factory 5 in Struer, Denmark, ensuring unity between the Beosound 9000 and the Beolab 28 speakers despite being decades apart in design.
Visual appeal aside, the Beosystem 9000c promises a powerful listening experience. Those Beolab 28 speakers feature Natural Aluminium lamellas and a Cosmic Black aluminium base.
The system isn’t just an homage to physical media. Equipped with Dolby Atmos support and wireless connectivity options including Airplay 2, Chromecast, and Bluetooth 5.0, the Beosystem 9000c offers plenty of versatility and convenience for every day streaming.
As Mads Kogsgaard Hansen, Head of Product Circularity & Portfolio Planning at Bang & Olufsen, says, “The Beosystem 9000c is not just a product, it’s a celebration of design, craftsmanship, and the enduring legacy of Bang & Olufsen. By bringing together the best of the past and present, we aim to inspire future generations to appreciate the beauty of physical media and the art of listening.”
Available now, the Beosystem 9000c Recreated Classic in Cosmic Black / Natural Aluminium is priced at £45,000 (€50,000 / $55,000) and is limited to just 200 units.
