Screen legends reflect on the roles that shaped them
Future episodes of BAFTA Playback will feature The Bear star Jeremy Allen White on November 11, with Harriet and Wicked star Cynthia Erivo taking the spotlight on November 13, before The Hunger Games’ Jennifer Lawrence on November 18. The series concludes with Creed actor and director Michael B. Jordan on November 20.
Each episode is filmed on a bespoke set designed to echo the personal and creative worlds of its guest. The featured clips play on Samsung’s high-end TV screens, underlining the brand’s role as BAFTA’s Official Screen Partner.
Emma Baehr, BAFTA’s Executive Director of Awards and Content, described the project as “a celebration of outstanding storytelling and the craft that goes into making films and television,” adding that BAFTA Playback offers audiences a chance to “watch actors talk through their creative influences and some of their favourite moments throughout their careers.”
Zeena Hill, Marketing Director for TV/AV at Samsung Electronics UK, said the partnership reflects a shared belief in the power of storytelling: “BAFTA Playback beautifully captures the connection between innovation, creativity and technology. With Samsung’s picture quality, our screens become the stage where some of the world’s most celebrated actors bring their stories to life.”
