When you fly British Airways next year, you’ll be able to stream, scroll, and stay connected at 38,000 feet, as the flag carrier rolls out high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi across its entire fleet.
The airline says all travellers, regardless of cabin class, will enjoy complimentary, gate-to-gate connectivity capable of supporting video streaming, video calls, and remote working on multiple devices.
The move which represents one of the most significant in-flight technology upgrades in the airline’s history, forms part of an ongoing £7 billion transformation programme.

A major milestone in BA’s journey
Starlink, developed by SpaceX, operates through a vast constellation of low-Earth orbit satellites that sit closer to the planet than traditional systems. This proximity allows for faster, more reliable internet connections, even over oceans and remote areas where service has historically been patchy.
BA says the rollout marks another step in the airline’s modernisation strategy, which has already delivered new aircraft, refreshed lounges, and measurable improvements to punctuality and customer satisfaction.
Sean Doyle, British Airways’ Chairman and Chief Executive, described the Starlink partnership as a “game-changer” for passengers: “With our new Wi-Fi powered by Starlink, our customers will be able to enjoy lightning-fast, low-lag internet from the moment they board to the moment they land – even over oceans and remote regions.”
British Airways’ transformation has already seen more than 1,000 initiatives implemented since 2024. Highlights include the launch of a new global lounge concept, debuting in Miami and Dubai, 15 fully renovated lounges across destinations including Seattle, Singapore, Glasgow and Gatwick, and delivery of 36 new aircraft since 2023, including 17 short-haul A320neo models featuring UK-crafted seats and interiors.
The airline’s upcoming innovations include a new First suite, featuring a 32-inch 4K display, mood lighting, and the widest seat in the fleet, and a redesigned mobile app launching in 2026.
When Starlink connectivity comes online, it will be available on all British Airways mainline and Euroflyer flights, ensuring passengers stay connected wherever they fly.
As Doyle puts it: “We’re continuing to focus on transforming our customer experience. Launching Starlink on both our long-haul and short-haul aircraft will really differentiate us, elevating every journey with seamless connectivity.”
For frequent flyers and digital nomads alike, it seems the sky is about to get a lot more connected.
