Regent Seven Seas Cruises has unveiled a spectacular new crystal light installation that will debut aboard Seven Seas Prestige when she launches in December 2026.
A vast Bohemian crystal installation will become the centrepiece of the new flagship, combining centuries-old glassmaking with a nightly sound-and-light show.
Seven Seas Prestige will be the line’s first new ship class in a decade. At 76,550 tons, she will accommodate 411 suites and 630 crew. With a design predicated on generous public spaces and all-balcony accommodation, the ship’s principal architectural statement is the Starlight Atrium.
That atrium is about to acquire an equally striking focal point. Rising through 11 decks, the new crystal installation has been created by Preciosa Lighting in partnership with Studio DADO. More than 300 handcrafted Bohemian crystal rods will form the contemporary interpretation of a traditional chandelier.
“With Seven Seas Prestige being Regent’s first new ship class in 10 years, we wanted to create something extraordinary, a defining statement that captures our heritage of unrivalled luxury while signalling a bold new era,” said Wesley D’Silva, president of Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

Bringing a century-old glassmaking tradition to sea
The story behind the installation begins in the Czech Republic’s Crystal Valley, the historic home of Bohemian glassmaking. The region has been associated with glass production for centuries, with its natural resources and skilled artisans helping establish the distinctive character of Bohemian crystal.
That heritage will be represented on a considerable scale aboard Seven Seas Prestige. The crystal rods have been assembled into a sculptural work that occupies the full height of the Atrium. Its lighting can be programmed to create different moods and effects throughout the day, giving passengers a changing perspective depending on when they encounter it.
The partnership with Preciosa continues a relationship that has already produced chandeliers across Regent’s fleet. Studio DADO, meanwhile, has played a major creative role in the design of the line’s Explorer-Class ships and Seven Seas Prestige.
Seven Seas Prestige nightly light theatre
The installation will take on a new role each evening when it becomes the centrepiece of Lumière, Regent’s first nightly sound-and-light show.
At 6.25pm the crystal structure begins a choreographed sequence of illumination, synchronised to an original musical arrangement. The show has been designed to be viewed from across the atrium, with passengers on different decks offered different perspectives.
We’re guessing the view from Galileo’s Bar with a glass of champagne in hand, may well offer the best view.
“Lumière is the ship’s nightly ritual, signalling the transition from day to evening as our Starlight Atrium lights up to a bespoke orchestral piece,” said Kai Carrier, director, entertainment creative, Regent Seven Seas Cruises. “Inspired by the anticipation of the beauty of sunset, it marks the moment the day gives way to a night sky of stars. Elegant, celestial, and aspirational, this signature transition is unmistakably Prestige, setting the tone for an extraordinary evening ahead.”
Seven Seas Prestige inaugural season
The installation is part of a wider design programme for the new ship. Seven Seas Prestige introduces 12 suite categories, including four new types and the Skyview Regent Suite, described by Regent as the largest all-inclusive, ultra-luxury cruise ship suite in history.
There will also be 11 dining experiences, including the new Azure Mediterranean concept, alongside Compass Rose, Sette Mari at La Veranda, Chartreuse, Prime 7 and Pacific Rim.
The inaugural season begins on December 13 2026, with a 14-night transatlantic voyage from Barcelona to Miami. The ship will then sail Caribbean itineraries before heading towards the Panama Canal and later Europe.
The season includes voyages along the Iberian Peninsula and French coast, with multiple overnight stays and calls at destinations including St Lucia, Cartagena and Bordeaux.
Seven Seas Prestige is the first of four planned ships in the new class. Further vessels are scheduled for 2030, 2033 and 2036.
