Forget rolling luggage, the Mous Optimal Backpack is the smarter way to travel

Mous Optimal backpack

Mous, official supplier of travel and tech accessories for the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team, has unveiled what could be your next, best travel solution: the Optimal Backpack.

An alternative to rolling luggage and disorganised rucksacks, this expandable 40L carry-on combines premium protection with extensive organisation, and sleek aesthetics.

Travel gear needs to be tough, and Mous has built the Optimal Travel Backpack to last. The exterior is crafted from 840D ballistic nylon, a material known for its durability, abrasion resistance, and waterproof coating. Lockable, water-resistant YKK zippers provide added security, while reinforced stitching implies this backpack can handle the rigours of long-haul adventures.

Features of Mous Optimal Travel Backpack

The Mous carry-on-sized backpack expands from 40L to 45L, said to be enough storage for up to 14 days of travel, yet remains within overhead cabin size limits for most major airlines. It has stowable shoulder straps and a removable hip belt for comfortable carrying. Multiple grab handles make it easy to manoeuvre in tight travel scenarios.

Inside, AiroFoam impact-absorbing technology protects fragile tech from drops, making this backpack a versatile companion for digital nomads and business travellers alike. The soft yet strong 210D lining fabric adds an extra layer of protection, while a polyurethane-coated finish enhances water resistance.

The backpack boasts 25 compartments and pockets, including a TSA-approved, clamshell-opening tech section, while  dedicated laptop and tablet sleeves provide padded protection for laptops up to 16-inches. There’s also a hidden passport pocket.

The Mous Travel Backpack is available here, priced at £299 (€320 / $320).
