London’s annual celebration of rum is preparing to return to the South Bank with hundreds of bottles, cocktails and masterclasses under one roof.
The Whisky Exchange Rum Show returns to Glaziers Hall July 18-19, bringing together more than 350 rums and sugar-cane spirits for what has become one of the capital’s most eagerly anticipated drinks events.
Organised by The Whisky Exchange, tickets start at £50 and include access to hundreds of tasting samples, a cocktail token and a ‘dream tot’ token, unlocking a special pour from one of the exhibiting brands.
More than 30 producers will be represented at this year’s event, joined by bartenders from celebrated London rum destinations Trailer Happiness and Laki Kane, who will be serving cocktails throughout the weekend.

Masterclasses on the menu
For many, the masterclasses have become as much of a draw as the tasting tables. Among this year’s highlights is ‘Rum Vs Whisky: Battle of the Spirits’, where Dawn Davies and Sly Augustin will pit three whiskies against three rums in a head-to-head tasting designed to settle one of the drinks world’s friendliest rivalries.
Another session explores rum’s extraordinary diversity of flavour. Georgi Radev hosts a journey from bright tropical fruit notes and vanilla sweetness through to drier expressions carrying herbal, savoury and earthy characteristics. It’s a reminder that rum isn’t a single flavour profile but an entire family of spirits shaped by geography, fermentation, distillation and maturation.
Those keen to take a more hands-on approach can join Sly Augustin’s blending workshop, where they will create their own bespoke rum blends inspired by traditions ranging from Caribbean proprietary bottlings to the historic vats of the Royal Navy.
What makes the Rum Show particularly appealing is the breadth of experience on offer. One moment you may be discussing fermentation techniques with a distiller, the next you could be sipping a daiquiri mixed by one of London’s leading rum bars. We’ll see you there!
