Moon is expanding its Compass Collection of luxury audio separates with the addition of a reference grade Class A/B power amplifier and high performance network player preamplifier.
The new Moon 461 assumes the role of most powerful amplifier option in the brand’s Compass range. Boasting exceptionally low distortion, it’s designed to partner the incoming Moon 491, a fully featured network player, preamplifier, DAC, phono stage and headphone amplifier.
The 491 combines extensive digital and analogue connectivity with low-noise performance and advanced streaming capabilities.
Central to the 491’s performance is Moon’s proprietary MiND 2 streaming platform, which supports UPnP, Roon Ready operation, AirPlay and Bluetooth connectivity. Users can access major streaming services including Qobuz, TIDAL, Deezer and Spotify via the Moon Mind Controller app. There’s also support for Qobuz Connect, TIDAL Connect, and Spotify Connect.
Vinyl listeners are catered for with the provision of an integrated phono stage, that supports both MM and MC cartridges.
A large colour screen on the front fascia of the 491 displays settings, album art and track details. Design and build quality are exceptional.
