The Aesthetic Edit: I tried a liquid rhinoplasty with the viral doctor everyone’s talking about and it changed everything

Dr Ducu

Dr Ducu’s name has a way of coming up. In changing rooms. In your newsfeed. In group chats. His reputation rests on a specific kind of result – the kind where people can’t quite put their finger on what’s changed, only that something has, and that you look incredible for it. So when I found myself deep in his Instagram before-and-afters at 11pm on a Tuesday, I did what any self-respecting beauty editor would do: I booked an appointment.

Dr Ducu’s luxury clinic is conveniently located in London’s Paddington

So, what exactly is it?

Non-surgical rhinoplasty – otherwise known as the liquid nose job – isn’t about making your nose smaller. That’s the first thing Dr Ducu will tell you. It’s about proportion: smoothing a bump here, lifting a tip there, rebalancing a profile so the whole face reads differently. No theatre, no general anaesthetic, no extended recovery. Just filler, placed with precision, in under half an hour.

As Dr Ducu explains, “Small, precise adjustments can create significant visual improvement, but it is essential to respect the anatomy… The goal is always a result that looks effortless and in proportion with the rest of the face.”

Dr Ducu has built a reputation among famous faces and dedicated fans alike for his transformative results

How does it work?

Hyaluronic acid filler, placed precisely along the bridge, tip, or dorsum depending on what the nose needs. The science is straightforward; the skill is not. Before a needle appears, there’s a proper consultation – not a cursory glance, but a full facial assessment, profile studied in motion and at rest, the nose considered in relation to the whole face rather than in isolation. It’s the kind of attention that makes you trust the outcome before anything has happened. The treatment itself takes just 15–20 minutes – you can even go straight back to work after.

The results (and yes, I checked obsessively)

The change is immediate. In my case, even more so than expected: a bump smoothed, the tip lifted just enough, the whole profile suddenly more composed. I checked my reflection approximately fifty times. Not an exaggeration. After that, what followed was the slow realisation that photos look different, that makeup sits differently, that angles I used to unconsciously avoid are no longer a problem. I loved my profile, my reflection, my makeup and photos a thousand times more. As Dr Ducu tells me, “Patients come to us because they want to look refreshed and refined, not different.” And that’s exactly it. I still look like me – just a slightly more polished version.

Dr Ducu’s consultation is thorough – based on small, precise tweaks and respecting the anatomy, and proportions of the face

Why is Dr Ducu the expert to trust?

What sets Dr Ducu apart isn’t an impressive list of celebrity clients (though there are plenty). It’s the expertise in balance, proportion, the relationship between features – rather than zeroing in on the thing you’ve come to fix. For a treatment area as anatomically unforgiving as the nose, that perspective matters. The best liquid rhinoplasty results are invisible. His tend to be.

As he explains, his approach is rooted in restraint and facial harmony – not trends. “We do not follow trends or overcorrect,” he tells me, “Instead, we focus on subtle enhancements that elevate a person’s natural features.”

“Patients come to us because they want to look refreshed and refined, not different,” Dr Ducu tells us.

What should you know before booking?

A few things worth knowing. First, the nose is a high-risk area for filler – vascular anatomy is complex, and the margin for error is slim. That means that choosing the right practitioner choosing the right practitioner is non-negotiable. Second: it’s not about making your nose smaller. As Dr Ducu explains, “It works by improving balance and symmetry, which often gives the illusion of a more refined nose.”

On the day: I was handed a stress ball. I didn’t use it – the treatment was over too quickly. A brief sting, some pain in the tip for a day or so, and that was broadly it. No bruising. Minimal swelling. I was even out at dinner that evening. Results last 12 to 18 months, though individual variation applies.

Is it for you?

If you have a small bump, a drooping tip, or a profile that feels slightly off-balance – this is precisely what this miracle treatment was designed for. It also works well as a surgical stepping stone: a way to try a change before committing to it permanently. As Dr Ducu notes, the appeal lies in its flexibility: “patients can make subtle changes without committing to a permanent outcome.” What it won’t do is make your nose significantly smaller – though the illusion can be achieved through balance. Manage expectations accordingly, and the results will likely exceed them, just like they did for me.

The verdict

I went in intrigued. I left obsessed. The result is subtle in the way the best things are  – you’d be hard-pressed to name exactly what changed, but something clearly has. It doesn’t draw attention. It just makes you look more like yourself, on a very good day. And honestly, I can’t stop looking at my profile in every reflection. I’d go back for Dr Ducu’s magic touch without a second thought.
