Sailing on sunshine: Stunning Oceanwalker S60e electric catamaran glides in

Oceanwalker S60e catamaran

By the time lesser yachts wake up with a grumble and a puff of diesel smoke, the Oceanwalker S60e is already ghosting across the bay, its solar panels soaking up the sun and its twin electric motors purring like a pampered cat.

Unveiled by Revolution Marine Group, the Oceanwalker S60e is a 60-foot solar-electric catamaran that promises to change not just how we cruise, but how we think about cruising. It’s all the luxury you expect from a modern motor yacht, and none of the noise, fumes, or guilt.

Yacht launches often come with familiar buzzwords: sleek, powerful, elegant. But the Oceanwalker S60e adds a few more to the lexicon: silent, sustainable, and solar. That’s because this sleek twin-hulled siren trades traditional propulsion for clean, electric calm.

Yacht launches often come with familiar buzzwords – but the Oceanwalker S60e adds a few more to the lexicon…

Powered by twin 200 HP (150 kW) electric motors, the S60e can cruise nearly silently at speeds up to 12 knots, with a sweet spot around 7-8 knots for optimal efficiency.

And with a hefty 10 kW of solar array power feeding a state-of-the-art lithium phosphate battery system, it can operate comfortably at anchor with air conditioning and electric cooking running, all without touching a drop of fuel.

Of course, if you’re heading off the beaten track, the S60e’s backup plan comes in the form of two 45 kW diesel generators, extending its range to a healthy 800 nautical miles. That’s enough for a proper island-hop or a well-earned escape from civilization.

Designed with a lighter footprint

What makes the S60e particularly compelling isn’t just its clean tech credentials. It’s that it never forgets it’s a luxury yacht. This isn’t a floating science project; it’s a sun-drenched sanctuary, with all the trimmings you’d expect – plush interiors, designer finish, and smart systems that run cool and clean.

Edward Sacks, CEO of Revolution Marine Group, puts it this way: “We continue to focus on staying ahead of the market when it comes to new and innovative technologies.” He’s not kidding. With every detail carefully supervised at the Fujian Sky Walker shipyard in Zhangzhou, China, this boat is a statement of intent: the future of yachting can be beautiful and responsible.

For those looking to live the dream on and off the water, the first Oceanwalker S60e is already spoken for. Due for delivery in April 2026, it’s bound for Club Ki’ama Bahamas, a private island enclave off Elizabeth Island.

Solar-powered residences, carbon-neutral yachts, and water like glass. Frankly, it’s a wonder anyone ever checks out.

As John Long, Managing Partner at Club Ki’ama, puts it: “Imagine the enjoyment our Club owners will experience combining a stay in their beachfront Club home with an amazing yacht cruise in the Exumas.” We don’t have to imagine. We’re already packing.

Availability and what’s next

The Oceanwalker S60e is set to make waves, quite literally, when it launches in 2026, and Revolution Marine Group hints this is just the beginning. A larger model is reportedly on the horizon, proving that quiet ambition and bold design are very much the wind in their sails.
