McLaren fans can now buy their own Special Edition Bowers & Wilkins Px8 headphones

The Px8 McLaren Edition headphones on a supercar

Premium audio outfit Bowers & Wilkins has partnered with McLaren to launch a limited edition of its high-end Px8 headphones with signature Papaya orange highlights.

The McLaren Edition builds on the long-standing relationship between the two brands for in-car audio. Bowers & Wilkins is responsible for the audio system in the McLaren Speedtail, McLaren GT and most recently the hybrid McLaren Artura supercar.

The Px8 McLaren Edition follows on the heels of the brand’s Px8 007 Edition, produced in collaboration with the James Bond film franchise.

Like its siblings, the McLaren Edition Px8 features bespoke 40mm Carbon Cone drive units, angled to ensure a consistent distance relative to the listener’s ears, from every point across the surface of each driver.

The Px8 uses Qualcomm aptX Adaptive wireless technology for optimum wireless audio quality, although cabled performance is also possible. This is allied to Bowers & Wilkins-developed Digital Signal Processing (DSP), and noise cancellation technology.

Conveniently, the Bowers & Wilkins research and development team are based just 30 miles from the McLaren global HQ in Surrey.

The new Px8 McLaren Edition will be available from the Bowers & Wilkins website, mclarenstore.com priced at £699 ($799 / €799).
