Swiss audio specialist Goldmund has unveiled the Mimesis Statement, a new flagship analogue pre-amplifier featuring a monolithic three-chassis design and exceptionally low measured distortion.
The Mimesis Statement represents the company’s latest effort to preserve the integrity of an audio signal in a high-end stereo system. Its formidable £182,000 price tag places the Mimesis Statement firmly in the ultra-luxury Hi-Fi camp, with Goldmund focusing on power-supply isolation, symmetrical circuitry and precise volume control.
The standout feature here is its elaborate three-chassis architecture. One enclosure houses the pre-amplification electronics, while two separate power-supply units serve the left and right channels independently. This arrangement is designed to reduce interference between the power supplies and sensitive audio circuitry, helping maintain stable, low-noise operating conditions.
Goldmund has also developed next gen power-supply electronics based on its discrete regulation principle. Additional voltage-regulation stages aim to improve noise rejection, while a redesigned audio board introduces a new circuit architecture and revised volume-control management. Proprietary internal wiring and optimised heat dissipation complete the design.
The company’s published measurements are impressive. Frequency response extends from 0.2Hz to 1.5MHz, within ±3dB. Total harmonic distortion plus noise (THD+N) is rated at 0.0002%, while intermodulation distortion plus noise (IMD+N) is 0.0006%. Both distortion figures are specified for an unbalanced input-to-output connection.
Goldmund also quotes a signal-to-noise ratio above 130dB on the line input, rising to more than 138dB when A-weighted. These figures indicate a design intended to keep unwanted noise and distortion exceptionally low.
Frequency response also extends well beyond the conventional audible range, although the practical benefit of all this innovation depends on the wider system and listening conditions.

Mimesis Statement connections and system control
The exterior is similarly impressive. A new cover-glass display sits alongside metal-coated front-panel controls. A recessed gold line runs across all three enclosures, visually connecting the separate units; a clear link to Goldmund’s luxury positioning.
The main chassis provides four RCA inputs and three balanced XLR inputs, with the option to use alternative RCA connections. Three XLR/RCA output channels allow the pre-amplifier to connect to compatible downstream equipment, while dedicated tape outputs accommodate recording or monitoring components.
Two Trigger Out connections are included for system integration. Each switches between 0V and 12V, allowing the Mimesis Statement to control the operating state of two compatible power amplifiers simultaneously. This is a useful inclusion for those building a sophisticated stereo system around separate amplification components.
What accounts for the price?
At £182,000, the Mimesis Statement costs more than many complete high-end audio systems. Its price reflects a product engineered for a small market of enthusiasts seeking uncompromising construction, specialised circuitry and extensive separation of power and audio components.
The three-chassis arrangement is central to that proposition. Dedicating a separate power supply to each stereo channel requires additional enclosures and electronics, while the redesigned regulation stages, internal wiring and thermal management add further engineering complexity.
The symmetrical circuit layout and new volume-control architecture are also intended to preserve signal integrity throughout the pre-amplifier.
Distortion figures are extremely low, and the signal-to-noise specification points to careful management of unwanted electrical noise. These characteristics matter in a high-resolution audio system, particularly when the pre-amplifier is paired with revealing power amplifiers and speakers.
The Goldmund Mimesis Statement is priced at £182,000 in the UK, $240,000 in the US, and CHF 200,000 in Switzerland.
