Ride on time: Bulgari and Ducati unveil stunning luxury sports watch collaboration

The Bugari Ducati sports watch on the arm of a biker in Ducati leathers

Italian style icons Ducati and Bulgari have partnered to produce a Special Edition sports watch that will wow fashionistas and motorcycle enthusiasts alike.

The Bulgari Aluminium Ducati Special Edition chronograph is limited to 1,000 pieces and features a dramatic Ducati red dial and indices inspired by Ducati rev counter graphics.

The watch features a 40mm diameter aluminium case, with bezel and bracelet in black rubber. The crown and chronograph pushers are made of titanium. The chronograph is water-resistant to 100m while the mechanical automatic BVL 130 movement, beating at the rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour, ensures tenth-of-a-second accuracy.

The titanium case back is personalised with the Ducati brand and production number, indicating the uniqueness of the limited edition piece.

Andrea Ferraresi and Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani

Andrea Ferraresi, Ducati Centro Stile Director, says the two companies share the same passion for design: “The quest for lightness, obsessive attention to detail, the use of fine materials and the creation of a distinctive and immediately recognizable design are the values that have inspired us in this project. Working on this project with Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, Bulgari’s Product Creation Executive Director, whom I have known for 15 years, was a way of bringing together our passions: motorbikes and high-end watchmaking.”

Stigliani says he discovered many parallels between motorcycles and watches when he visited the Ducati factory in Borgo Panigale, namely “a common passion for the beauty of the mechanics and the Italian design approach.”

The timepiece ships in a special anodized aluminium case, with rubber interior and soft touch finish, bearing the signatures of the Ducati and Bulgari brands.

If you’re driven by a passion for Ducati motorcycles, or have a love of high-end end watch-making, you’ll find the Bulgari Aluminium Ducati Special Edition chronograph on sale in Bulgari stores, authorised retailers and on the brand’s website, priced at €5,000.
