Drinks by the Dram has unveiled The Whisky Library, an educational tasting collection created in collaboration with whisky expert Dave Worthington.
Presented as a miniature bookshelf, the set contains 36 wax-sealed 30ml drams housed across six themed volumes covering Scotch whisky regions, single malt whisky, Japanese whisky, Irish whiskey, Bourbon and American whiskey, and sherry-cask maturation. A seventh volume includes a pair of Glencairn crystal tasting glasses.
The release represents one of its most ambitious Drinks by the Dram projects to date. The company has built its reputation on curated tasting sets and award-winning Advent calendars, but The Whisky Library aims for something more substantial: a reference work that can be read, explored and tasted simultaneously.
Worthington is well known in whisky circles as Global Brand Ambassador for independent bottler That Boutique-y Whisky Company and has built a reputation as one of the UK’s most knowledgeable and engaging whisky educators.

An immersive whisky education
The collection is divided into six specialist volumes: Scotch Whisky Regions, Single Malt Whisky, Japanese Whisky, Irish Whiskey, Bourbon and American Whiskey, and Sherry-Cask. Each book contains six carefully selected drams designed to illustrate the character, production methods and heritage of its subject matter.
Among the standout inclusions is Lagavulin 16 Year Old, a benchmark Islay malt whose balance of maritime smoke, dried fruit and gentle sweetness has made it a reference point for peated whisky for decades.
Irish whiskey is championed by Redbreast 12 Year Old Cask Strength, a full-bodied pot still expression that delivers layers of baking spice, orchard fruit and toasted oak. Bottled at natural strength, it offers a richer and more intense interpretation of one of Ireland’s most celebrated whiskies and has earned a reputation for winning over newcomers to the style.
Japanese whisky receives equally distinguished representation through Yoichi Single Malt. Produced at Nikka’s northern distillery on Hokkaido, the whisky helped establish Japan’s reputation among international enthusiasts thanks to its combination of coastal influence, restrained smoke and remarkable balance.
A seventh book completes the set by housing a pair of Glencairn crystal tasting glasses, ensuring drinkers have the appropriate glassware for appreciating the nuances of each dram.
