The London Distillery Company has announced a 10-year-old single malt, Ten Times Around the Sun, marking London’s first decade-aged modern whisky.
Limited to just 220 bottles, this single cask expression has been distilled using Quench spring barley, known for its biscuity, cereal notes.
The spirit was laid down on October 20 2015 and filled into a single ex-bourbon cask (#007), where it has matured for a full decade. Bottled at 51.4% ABV, Ten Times Around the Sun is presented non-chill filtered and natural in colour.

Ten Times Around the Sun Tasting Notes
The decade-long maturation in ex-bourbon wood has shaped a spirit that leans towards clarity and fruit. On the nose, the whisky opens with bright tinned peaches and sliced mango, followed by soft nougat, earthy dunnage-floor notes and a light dusting of oak spice.
The palate is described as bold and fruit-forward, boasting syrupy sweetness and piquantly spiced preserved fruits, supported by notes of milk chocolate and creamy cereal character. Subtle cask pepperiness adds warmth and lift without overwhelming the spirit. The finish is long and measured, with ripe fruit lingering before fading into a gentle, tingling Szechuan pepper spice.
The London Distillery Company, founded in 2011, was the first whisky distillery to open in London since 1903. From its original Battersea site, the distillery helped spark the city’s contemporary whisky movement, combining traditional techniques with a distinctly modern London identity; it pioneered botanical creativity and heritage grain experiments. The distillery ceased operation in 2020, only to return in 2025.
Managing Director and Whisky Maker Matt McKay describes the release as a defining moment for the distillery, noting its origins in one of the company’s earliest casks and its eventual revival:
“This release is a tangible piece of London’s whisky history, surviving the distillery’s closure in 2019 and now emerging as a symbol of our return.”
Ten Times Around the Sun is available exclusively from londondistillery.co.uk, priced at £89.95.
