Hennessy has released a set of limited edition bottlings to coincide with the Chinese New Year, marking the arrival of the Year of the Horse. The annual Lunar New Year release features redesigned editions of Hennessy V.S.O.P cognac, James Hennessy, Hennessy X.O and Hennessy Paradis, continuing the Maison’s long-standing tradition of commemorating the festival.
Hennessy’s Lunar New Year releases bring together established cognac expressions with specially commissioned designs. The 2026 collection takes the horse as its central motif, reflecting its traditional symbolism of energy, freedom and movement, says the brand.
The new designs draw on a flowing red colour palette, combined with metallic copper tones and deep mineral pigments. At the centre of each presentation is a stylised, galloping horse.

New limited editions and their presentation
The 2026 Lunar New Year collection spans four expressions from the Hennessy portfolio: Hennessy V.S.O.P, James Hennessy, Hennessy X.O and Hennessy Paradis. Each retains its established liquid, with the focus of the release placed firmly on the presentation and symbolic design rather than changes to the blend.
Across the range, the horse motif is consistent, providing visual continuity while allowing each bottling to retain its individual identity. The use of metallic copper and mineral tones adds depth to the artwork, while the red base palette anchors the collection in traditional Lunar New Year symbolism.
Hennessy positions the collection as a continuation of its historic relationship with China, which began in 1859 with the first shipment of cognac to the country. Over the following decades, the house has marked key moments through product introductions and cultural projects, from the arrival of Hennessy X.O in the 19th century to more recent symbolic and artistic initiatives.
