Four Seasons Hotel London at Tower Bridge is marking Lunar New Year with a season-long programme of fine dining, to welcome the Year of the Horse in suitably elegant fashion.
From early February through to March, the hotel’s public spaces and signature Asian restaurant, Mei Ume, will play host to a series of experiences designed to reflect renewal, good fortune and communal celebration.
Here’s what diners can expect…
The Rotunda will be home to a bespoke celebratory cocktail, The Eternal Seasons, available throughout the Year of the Horse…
Mei Ume ten course tasting menu
From February 4 to March 6, the Rotunda Bar & Lounge becomes the visual anchor for the celebrations. Beneath the venue’s domed ceiling, the space will be dressed with deep red feather arrangements, hand-crafted lanterns and a wishing tree, its natural branches adorned with red tassels and handwritten cards.
Guests are invited to add their own wishes, a gesture rooted in Lunar New Year tradition.
The Rotunda is also home to a bespoke cocktail, The Eternal Seasons. During the Lunar New Year period, each serve is accompanied by a wishing card, encouraging guests to take part in the ritual unfolding around them.
The fun continues in Mei Ume, where Chef de Cuisine Peter Ho has created a ten-course tasting menu to mark the occasion. Available from February 15 until March 3, the menu is structured as a progression of traditional dishes and refined techniques, each chosen for its cultural resonance as much as its flavour.
The experience opens with Prosperity Tossed Salmon Salad, followed by an Iberico Char Siu and Roasted Pork Platter. Koi Dim Sum arrives next, served in a clear seafood broth with Chinese seaweed, lotus leaf and goji berries, before a double-boiled clam superior soup with morel mushroom and mustard adds depth and warmth.
Steamed seabass with ten-year aged yellow wine sauce follows, lifted by red chilli and coriander, while wok-fried cured meats with stem lettuce and bamboo shoots bring a savoury, textural contrast. The later courses include a braised vegetable parcel, olive fried rice with asparagus and white fungus, and a closing black sesame rice ball in ginger and date broth.
Lunar New Year cocktail selection
To accompany the menu, Mei Ume and the Rotunda Bar & Lounge will offer a limited-edition Lunar New Year cocktail selection. Highlights include the Golden Reverie, built around Hennessy VSOP, Muyu Chinotto, Umeshu Plum and Hibiscus tea, and Crimson Fortune Fizz, a brighter serve inspired by the season’s signature hue.
Fizz more your thing? The Sidecar Royal offers a Champagne-led reinterpretation of a classic, featuring Moët & Chandon Imperial Champagne, while the Jade Orchard is a fresh and elegant blend of Hennessy VSOP, Muyu Vetiver, Rue Berry, White Port and Soda.
Lunar New Year cocktails in Mei Ume are priced from £19 to £28. The ten-course tasting menu at Mei Ume is priced at £128 per person, and includes a welcome Lunar New Year cocktail.
The Eternal Seasons cocktail in the Rotunda Bar & Lounge is priced at £25. Reservations can be made via the Four Seasons Hotel London at Tower Bridge website, or directly through Mei Ume.
