Bowers & Wilkins has unveiled the 707 Prestige Edition, a new high-end bookshelf addition to its established 700 Series range. The model is ostensibly the most refined compact speaker the company has produced, within the series, combining upgraded acoustic components with a distinctive luxury finish.
Aimed at Hi-Fi enthusiasts seeking performance and craftsmanship in a compact form, the 707 Prestige Edition draws on technologies used across Bowers & Wilkins’ upper-tier loudspeaker lines, and includes elements derived from both the 700 Series Signature models and its legendary 800 Series Diamonds.
Sonically, the new arrival builds on the acoustic platform of the existing 707 S3, a two-way stand-mount design known for its compact footprint and controlled, articulate sound. While the core architecture is familiar, this premium iteration introduces refinements said to improve resolution, soundstage, and overall build quality.

The definitive compact stand-mount
Exclusively finished in Santos Gloss, the 707 Prestige Edition is nothing if not visually distinct. The treatment is inspired by the Santos Rosewood veneer previously used on the limited-run 805 D3 Prestige Edition, and is complemented by a unique logo plate on the rear panel.
The Santos Gloss cabinet treatment is achieved through a process involving 12 layers of paint and lacquer, creating a deep, reflective surface. The overall aesthetic echoes the broader 700 Series, but the materials and detailing clearly mark the Prestige Edition out as a flagship within the bookshelf category.
If required, buyers can pair the speakers with optional FS-700 S3 floorstands, available in black or silver.
707 Prestige Edition features and innovations
The 707 Prestige Edition is built around a two-driver configuration housed in a vented enclosure with a curved front baffle, which the company says reduces diffraction and improves dispersion.
High frequencies are handled by a 25mm Carbon Dome tweeter, while midrange and bass duties are managed by a 130mm Continuum cone drive unit.
Continuum, first introduced in Bowers & Wilkins’ reference loudspeakers, claims to avoid the abrupt break-up modes associated with traditional cone materials, resulting in a more open and neutral midrange presentation.
Borrowed from the multi-award-winning 705 S3 Signature are an upgraded tweeter grille mesh and improved, low-loss speaker terminals, components designed to reduce interference around the high-frequency driver and improve signal integrity, says Bowers & Wilkins. The result is greater clarity and a more expansive soundstage compared to the standard 707 S3.
