100 years in the making: Bang & Olufsen limited-edition Centennial audio collection strikes a pose

The Centennial Collection Beoplay H100 headphones

Bang & Olufsen is marking a century of design and acoustic innovation with the launch of The Centennial Collection, a trio of special-edition audio products that blend archival detail with modern craftsmanship.

The limited series reimagines three of its most recognisable creations: the Beoplay H100 headphones, Beosound A5 portable speaker, and Beosound A9 5th Generation.

Founded in 1925, Bang & Olufsen has long been synonymous with elevated Scandinavian design. The new Centennial Collection draws visual and tactile inspiration from defining moments in the brand’s history, from the geometric grill patterns of early radios to the aluminium forms that defined the 1980s.

Each piece carries the B&O Est. 1925 Anniversary insignia and the founders’ mantra: ‘A never failing will to create only the best.’

Beosound A9, A5 and Beoplay H100 get Centennial makeover

The Beosound A5 portable offers Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, long battery life, and integrated wireless charging. In the Centennial Collection, it takes on a new visual identity, with a paper raffia weave in Beige and Chestnut Brown, inspired by the checkered speaker grills of the 1950s. The design is anchored by a brushed aluminium frame and Century Red leather handle, while Century Blue cabling adds a playful contrast.

The Beoplay H100 headphones, designed for immersive listening, are optimised for Dolby Atmos and equipped with precision-engineered titanium drivers and adaptive noise cancellation. The new Centennial Edition features a leather headband in Century Red with Chestnut Brown inner detailing, complemented by matching leather ear cushions and subtle Century Blue highlights.

The glass disc bears the anniversary logo, while a Century Red travel pouch completes the collectible look, a nod to the warm, tactile design sensibilities of Bang & Olufsen’s past.

An enduring symbol of Bang & Olufsen’s sculptural approach to audio design, the Beosound A9 remains one of the most recognisable wireless speakers in the world. The Centennial Edition is wrapped in Kvadrat’s custom Centennial Cadence fabric, a bold check pattern woven in Century Blue and Chestnut Brown, recalling the energy of 1970s interiors.

Its natural aluminium ring and legs are treated with a brushed finish reminiscent of the brand’s 1980s aesthetic. Beneath the design lies seven finely tuned drivers that deliver the A9’s signature room-filling sound.

The Beosound A5 Century Weave portable is priced at £1,250 (€1,500 / $1,750), the Beoplay H100 Century Brown headphones are £1,500 (€1,800 / $2,300), while the Beosound A9 Century Blue speaker is £3,800 (€4,500 / $5,500).

The Bang & Olufsen Centennial Collection is available from October 22 at selected Bang & Olufsen boutiques and bang-olufsen.com.
