Disaronno, the Italian liqueur famed for its almond flavour and distinctive square bottle, is celebrating its 500th anniversary with a limited edition collection – and a specially created cocktail.
The brand is releasing five bottles that reflect the themes of Italian culture and craftsmanship across the centuries – Passione, Bellezza, Dolcevita, Stile and Eleganza. Disaronno says the collection is intended both as a collector’s series and as a seasonal gift.
Each bottle contains Disaronno Originale. Since 1525, the liqueur remains unchanged, produced using the same recipe that has helped it achieve international recognition as a versatile spirit for sipping or mixing.
The recipe for Disaronno is credited to a local innkeeper named Giovanni Reina, and has been passed down through generations of his family. Even today, it’s a closely guarded secret.
