When Denon launches new headphones, our ears always prick up. With decades of hi-fi pedigree, sound quality and style are a given. Now with its latest true wireless earbuds, the AH-C500W and AH-C840NCW, the brand is taking two distinct approaches to personal audio.
The AH-C500W is built around an open-earbud design, made for people in motion; think park runs, bike rides, or any situation where spatial awareness matters. With an IPX4 water-resistance rating, they’re able to cope with everything from gym sweat to an unexpected drizzle.
By contrast, the AH-C840NCW offers a more immersive experience, and features Adaptive Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation technology. Consider these for best if you commute, or value distraction free listening.

Both earbuds feature 12mm Free Edge drivers, engineered to reduce distortion and deliver a more natural, balanced sound. Denon says the drivers are tuned to create detailed soundscapes with rich mid-range performance and clear highs, making them suitable for a wide variety of musical genres.
Dual microphones enhance voice clarity during phone and video calls. The new buds are also Bluetooth Auracast ready, the next-generation wireless audio broadcasting technology that allows users to share audio with multiple devices.
Juice shouldn’t be an issue. The AH-C500W provides up to 24 hours of total playback, while the AH-C840NCW delivers up to 35 hours, both when used with their respective charging cases. A 10-minute quick charge offers an extra hour of playback for those of us in a hurry.
The Denon AH-C500W and AH-C840NCW true wireless earbuds will be available from April 15, priced at £99 and £159 respectively.
