The concept behind The Haven
The Haven is NCL’s innovative ‘ship within a ship’ concept, designed to provide discerning guests with a haven of tranquility and exclusivity. Hidden at the top of Prima Class, Epic, Breakaway, and Breakaway Plus Class ships, The Haven delivers a boutique cruising experience within the larger vessel, offering all the benefits of a luxury retreat while retaining access to the full range of amenities and entertainment the main ship provides.
From private elevators and exclusive dining to 24-hour butler service, guests staying in the Haven are treated like VIPs from embarkation to debarkation, with personal escorts on and off the ship, priority boarding for tenders, and concierge services to arrange everything from shore excursions to dining reservations.
Exclusive Haven benefits
If you think the average cruise ship stateroom is a wow, you haven’t seen anything yet. The Haven offers a variety of luxurious staterooms to suit different preferences and family sizes. Options include three-Bedroom Garden Villas, perfect for large families or groups; deluxe Owner’s Suites with expansive balconies for panoramic ocean views; two-Bedroom Family Villas with balconies, ideal for families seeking both space and privacy, and deluxe Suites, where comfort and elegance meet.
For Prima Class ships, like the Viva, the accommodations take luxury to the next level with private-access elevators, spacious layouts, and stunning features like infinity pools and wraparound sun decks. “These tend to sell out quickly,” we were told as we took in the views.
It’s no surprise the concept is so popular. The Haven offers a host of facilities designed for the comfort and enjoyment of its guests; a tranquil retreat where you can sip cocktails, socialise with fellow Haven guests, or relax with a book. It’s easy to forget there’s a busy, bustling ship just a few decks away.
There’s also a private dining venue, offering an elevated menu with a curated selection of vintage wines. Guests can also opt for meals served in the privacy of their capacious suites.
The Haven sanctuary features its own pool, hot tubs, and an adults-only second-floor sundeck. The more open layout found on Prima Class ships enhances the feeling of space and connection to the sea.
Available on Prima and Viva Class ships, there’s also Infinity Pools, offering breathtaking views and a quiet space to unwind.
Norwegian ships have an enviable reputation for customer service, but the Haven goes one step beyond. There’s a 24-hour butler service, to cater to your every need. The Concierge is also ready to assist with booking dining, entertainment, and shore excursions.
Stress isn’t on the menu.
Best of both worlds
One of The Haven’s most compelling attractions is the ability to enjoy the best of both worlds. It may be a secluded retreat with luxurious amenities, but guests still have full access to the main ship’s activities, dining, and entertainment.
From specialty dining options to onboard racetracks, you can indulge in everything your ship offers before retreating to your private oasis.
The Prima Class ships, in particular, stand out with their innovative designs. Private elevators offer direct access to The Haven, while the suites and facilities span from deck nine to deck 15, creating a true idyll at sea.
Whether you’re relaxing in your suite, savoring fine cuisine in The Haven Restaurant, or soaking in the views from the private bar, every moment is engineered to exceed expectations.
Our verdict? Combining the amenities and destinations of world-class cruise ships with the seclusion and service of a premium resort, The Haven really does offer the best of all cruise worlds.
