60 years on, Aston Martin DB12 Goldfinger Edition reimagines classic James Bond car

Luxury British carmaker Aston Martin has announced the DB12 Goldfinger Edition. This highly exclusive model celebrates the 60-year relationship between Aston Martin and the James Bond film franchise, first forged with the debut of the iconic DB5 in the 1964 Bond classic Goldfinger; a partnership that has left an indelible mark on both automotive and cinematic history.

While James Bond relied on Aston Martin to evade his enemies, the new Goldfinger Edition focuses on delivering an opulent driving experience, with refined nods to the much-loved third entry in the film franchise.

The DB12 Goldfinger Edition is no ordinary Aston Martin – it’s been (appropriately) crafted by Q by Aston Martin, the brand’s bespoke personalisation service. Limited to a production run of just 60 cars, this special edition reimagines the DB12 Super Tourer.

Aesthetically, the DB12 Goldfinger Edition draws inspiration from Bond’s DB5. Finished in distinctive Silver Birch paint, it features 21-inch multi-spoke wheels in a unique silver finish, black brake callipers, and bespoke gold side strakes. A bright chrome ‘Q’ fender badge confirms its lineage.

Inside, attention to detail is just as extraordinary. The leather Sports Plus seats feature a fluted style, reminiscent of 1960s luxury, while the upholstery carries a Prince of Wales check perforation pattern, a nod to James Bond’s tailored suits. The 18k gold-plated accents on the interior controls, such as the drive mode dial and gear selector, further enhance the car’s sophistication, with the latter inspired by the golden tracking device used by 007.

Adding a fun, hidden touch for Bond fans, the driver’s sun visor has been embroidered with the ‘eight of hearts’, referencing the Miami pool scene from Goldfinger. Just don’t press the little red button..

“Mr Bond, I expect you to buy!”

Beyond its visual cues, the DB12 Goldfinger Edition is a performance beast. Powered by a 4.0-litre V8 Twin-Turbo engine, it boasts a formidable 680PS (670bhp) and 800Nm of torque, offering class-leading power. Aston Martin has equipped the DB12 with an advanced suspension system, ensuring that this Super Tourer delivers both performance and refinement.

On the tech front, the DB12 Goldfinger Edition features a next-gen infotainment system, designed in-house to provide entertainment and navigation. The car also comes with the premium Bowers & Wilkins halo audio system as standard, allowing drivers to enjoy an exceptional audio experience, worthy of Bond’s high standards.

As if owning one of these rare roadsters wasn’t enough, Aston Martin has also curated a collection of exclusive gifts to accompany the DB12 Goldfinger Edition.

Evert owner gets a custom car cover, a luxury key presentation box, and a Silver Birch Speedform model. More uniquely, buyers will receive a section of the iconic Furka Pass scene from Goldfinger in 35mm film, as well as a 1/60 golden limited edition Aston Martin magazine.

The gifts are presented in a Globe-Trotter attaché case, designed to mirror the car’s aesthetic with a Silver Birch exterior and Prince of Wales check interior. A magnum of 2007 vintage Champagne Bollinger, paired with four exclusive 007 glasses, rounds off the lavish package.

“The relationship between Aston Martin and the James Bond franchise is something that is always treasured”, said Marco Mattiacci, Global Chief Brand and Commercial Officer.  “It is an incredible occasion to be able to recognise six decades of this partnership with an extraordinary special edition, and pay homage to the very first – and perhaps most famous Aston Martin Bond car. Incorporating these subtle but impactful touches, developed by our own Q department has created a very unique offering; one that will be adored by Bond fans across the world.

“Q by Aston Martin allows us to create truly unique vehicles, often initiated by the imaginations of our esteemed customers and I am delighted that we are able to support these ideas, not matter how big or small”.

The Aston Martin DB12 Goldfinger Edition will begin deliveries in the second quarter of 2025, with only 60 models available worldwide.
