Bowmore has announced a new Sherry Oak boutique Collection of single malt whiskies, along with a new livery for the brand, as it prioritises ‘elevation and premiumisation.’
The Sherry Oak Collection aims to showcase the role European oak Sherry casks have in shaping the depth and flavour of its single malts, both complementing and enhancing the distiller’s signature style.
The Bowmore Sherry Oak Collection opens with the Bowmore 12-Year-Old Sherry Oak Cask (£58.95). Bottled at 40% ABV, tasting notes for this youngster speak of ‘sweet spice and nuttiness, with a smouldering smokiness that blends with the fruit and woodiness brought by the Sherry casks.
Bowmore 15-Year-Old Sherry Oak Cask (£99.95) adds a layer of sweetness derived from the selective maturation in first-fill Oloroso casks. Bottled at 43% ABV, it’s ‘rich, with natural smoke, and minerality alongside a woodier, sweeter, and fruitier finish.’
Bowmore 18-Year-Old Sherry Oak Cask (£160) has been finished first in Oloroso seasoned casks, before a second maturation in Pedro Ximenez PX casks. Drinkers should expect bright fruit notes and smouldering smoke from this whisky, bottled at 43% ABV.
Finally, the oldest expression, Bowmore 21-Year-Old Sherry Oak Cask (£295) offers even greater complexity. Bottled at 46.8% ABV, it’s once again finished first in Oloroso seasoned casks, followed by a second maturation in PX casks.

Introducing the new Bowmore distillery brand design
The new Bowmore morphic linework brand design is said to represent the expressive and layered nature of Islay whisky distillery’s character. The use of black, a legacy colour and part of the brand livery for decades, pays homage to one of itd most iconic whiskies, Black Bowmore, distilled in 1964.
“We have a duty of care as custodians of this incredible distillery to best reflect and capture the true essence of Bowmore, out of both respect to all that has been achieved so far but equally out of a desire to ensure we honour the spirit as we know it today,” explains Kirsteen Beeston, Marketing Director of Bowmore. “As such, we made the decision to evolve the world which surrounds the brand, across brand creative, experience, and innovation.”
The Bowmore Sherry Oak range will roll out to London, Paris, Toronto and Munich from September 2024 via whisky specialists and luxury retailers. The new collection will also be available from the Bowmore brand home on Islay, from October 2024.
