The House of Mouse has announced four new ships for its popular cruise line, as well as new attractions based on The Lion King and Frozen, at its D23 fan event in Anaheim, California.
Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro revealed that Disneyland Paris will host the world’s first attraction and immersive themed area inspired by The Lion King, as well as the new World of Frozen in 2026.
Then, between 2027 and 2031, four new vessels will join the Disney Cruise Line. These additions will bring the total number of Disney ships to 13, expanding the brand’s reach and offering families even more ways to experience Disney’s celebrated entertainment, which includes the Moana theatre show, and dining at sea.
While specific details about these new ships remain under wraps, the expansion underscores Disney’s commitment to providing elevated family holidays. Fans can expect the new vessels to embody the same enchanting spirit that has made Disney Cruise Line a firm favourite in family cruising.

Disneyland Paris Lion King and Frozen attractions unveiled for 2026
Disneyland Paris is set to become more magical with the introduction of two major new attractions. Leading the charge is an all-new themed area dedicated to The Lion King. This immersive experience will transport guests to the African savanna, where they can embark on an adventure-filled water attraction beneath the iconic Pride Rock.
Guests will follow Simba’s journey from cub to king, surrounded by the vibrant sights and sounds of the Pride Lands. The area will also feature character meet-and-greets and themed dining.
In addition to The Lion King area, Disneyland Paris will also unveil World of Frozen in 2026. This new area promises to bring the Kingdom of Arendelle to life, inviting guests to explore alongside Anna, Elsa, and Olaf. The highlight will be Frozen Ever After, an attraction that promises to ‘immerse visitors in the heart of Arendelle’s magical winter wonderland’.
With immersive shopping and dining experiences and the chance to meet Anna and Elsa, World of Frozen is certain to become a must-visit destination for Frozen fans.
Disney’s American theme parks are also being revamped, with several new themed lands and attractions announced for Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Resort in California.
At Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, fans can look forward to an all-new Villains Land, where guests can immerse themselves in the world of Disney’s most notorious villains. The land will feature two attractions, as well as themed dining certain to delight those who appreciate Disney’s darker side.
In a nod to Pixar, the Magic Kingdom will also introduce a Cars-themed area in a reimagined Frontierland, featuring two new attractions inspired by the popular Cars franchise.
Meanwhile, at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World Resort, construction will soon begin on the first full land dedicated to Monsters, Inc.. This immersive area will include Disney’s first suspended coaster, allowing guests to zoom through the door vaults of the Monsters, Inc. factory alongside Mike and Sulley.
Over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the new Tropical Americas area will bring the magic of Encanto and Indiana Jones to life with two signature attractions, a journey through Casita Madrigal and an ancient Maya temple thrill ride respectively.
