Championship rounds: Floyd Mayweather Jr launches knockout Good Money Whisky range

Undefeated former world champion boxer and now luxury entrepreneur Floyd Mayweather Jr has stepped into the whisky ring, unveiling his own The Good Money Whisky range at a glitzy launch in Las Vegas. The inaugural collection comprises two Canadian whiskies: a five-year-old blended whisky and a 10-year-old rye whisky, both aged in America Oak casks.

The five-year-old blend is bottled at 40% ABV and offers notes of caramelised apple, tropical fruits and a dash of spice. 

The premium rye whisky is bottled at 45% ABV, and boasts a flavour profile that includes butterscotch, spice and vanilla.

The pair retail for US$40, and $85 respectively. Initial distribution is limited to the USA.

Speaking at the launch of Good Money Whisky, held at distributor Southern Glazer’s Las Vegas hub, Mayweather declared “Every adult wants to have something great to drink. And guess what? Together with my team, we developed and sourced the best exclusive products we could find to be offered to the public.”

At the unveiling, Mayweather also introduced his own champagne brand, Le Bon Argent champagne, in Brut and rosé varieties.
