Summer’s here, and it’s the time for coffee – cold brew coffee that is. Jumping on a growing trend for icy java, De’Longhi has launched two new coffee machines able to serve cold brews at the touch of a button.
I’ve tried them out, and can confirm they’re cool beans.
And, don’t think this wasn’t lost on me: cold brew coffee provides an ideal basis for a whole new range of coffee inspired cocktails!
Offering more than 50 one-touch drinks out of the box, the new Eletta Explore is the fully automated option. This De’Longhi bean-to-cup coffee machine offers cold brew, cold coffee, and all your hot favourites, with minimal effort.
This cold brew innovation has been made possible by a new Cold Extraction process, which makes Cold Brew drinks in about three minutes, at the touch of a button, compared to the traditional cold brew process which can take the best part of 24 hours!

The Eletta Explore grinds your beans, tamping them automatically with digital dosing, before infusing the coffee dose with room temperature water at very low pressure.
De’Longhi’s novel LatteCrema frothing system is able to produce sweet and velvety milk foam at a perfect temperature for cold drinks, as well as hot and creamy milk foam when you go full flat white.
That said, you can still customise strength, length and temperature, and experiment with your own recipes.
It looks sharp with a titanium finish, and sports a 3.5-inch colour display with soft touch controls.
There’s also a handy To-Go function, which fills your mug-to-go with a choice of three different beverage sizes.
If you long for the look of a more traditional barista machine albeit with cold brew talents, then gaze longingly at this new addition to De’Longhi’s La Specialista family, the La Specialista Maestro.
This also employs Cold Extraction technology, but lets you get your full coffee geek on. This manual bean-to-cup machine delivers Cold Brew in under 5 minutes.
Designed for coffee enthusiasts, La Specialista Maestro boasts 8 unique pre-set hot (flat White, Cappuccino etc) and cold recipes, including Cold Brew and Espresso Cool. The latter is a unique recipe developed by De’Longhi, that’s lighter and sweeter than a traditional espresso, with a creamy mouthfeel.
La Specialista has eight grind settings, five temperature settings, and comes with five temperature profiles, between 88-96C.
La Specialista Maestro and Eletta Explore are available now, from delonghi.com, priced at £999.99.
