Train smarter: Hands-on with Samsung’s new partnership with Fiit

Fiit expert trainer, Gede Foster

Get ready to sweat: Samsung has partnered with highly-rated hybrid fitness platform Fiit to offer a free subscription to the app for its customers… and we can confirm, you’ll feel the burn.

The tech giant has teamed up with the popular workout platform to bring you the ultimate connected workout from the comfort of your own home – or anywhere.

Samsung’s new partnership with Fiit means you’ll get access to hundreds of workouts on demand, for free.

It’s all part of Samsung’s ‘Smart Start’ offer, which means that when you purchase a new selected Samsung smart TV or monitor, you’ll get access to a suite of apps worth £160 – and that includes four months of Fiit. The top-rated app delivers curated, killer workouts and training regimes on demand to your device, to follow at home on your TV, or on the go from your phone or tablet

For the full experience, it’ll also integrate with your other connected Samsung products, like the smart Samsung Galaxy Watch5.

Naturally, we has to check it out – and because we don’t do things by halves, we put it to the test with Fiit trainer, professional dancer and one of London’s most in-demand PTs, Gede Foster, one of the 37 expert trainers on the app.

The variety of workouts on the app is enormous. Gede explains, “We really pride ourselves on the amount of variety we have across cardio, strength and rebalance.”

Use the Fiit app for workouts at home, or on the go

We’re not just talking individual classes – these are full, progressive wokout plans.

“We have over 40 training plans across different training goals and levels, running from two to six weeks, so you can have a progressive plan to follow and keep you accountable,” Gede tells us, “Over time, we expose a user’s progression. Month to month, they can see where their fitness is going.”

We tried the newly-launched Total Fiit Bodyweight plan, a six-week intermediate-level course.

The high energy, circuit-training style class is ideal for keeping your heartrate up at a consistent pace – and, importantly, it’s fun. We’re also big fans of the fact that we really felt the burn without the need for any equipment at all.

Another highlight comes in the form of the app’s community capabilities. We tried the workout in a group class – and we love that the app allows you not only to schedule group workouts and train with friends, but also train on a leaderboard, thanks to your connected devices, to add a competitive element to your classes.

Overall, Samsung x Fiit offers a great way to elevate your workout at home, through to the gym, and beyond – with PT-level curated progression and connected elements taking our workouts to the next level. Of course, after feeling the burn, we’re more than happy to sit and enjoy some rather less strenuous streaming apps, too.
