Johnnie Walker Blue Label whisky has released a limited-edition bottle designed by fast rising fashion talent, Angel Chen, star of fashion competition show Next in Fashion on Netflix.
Shanghai-based Angel, who studied at Central St Martins in London, has created a stunning interpretation of 2023’s zodiac animal to celebrate the lunar New Year.
The rabbit signifies longevity in traditional Asian culture, symbolising elegance and beauty. The artwork plays on the Johnnie Walker motto, Keep Walking, and features bunnies bounding across spectral mountainous peaks.
Johnnie Walker Blue Label is made using some of the rarest whiskies from the Johnnie Walker reserves of maturing Scotch, including casks sourced from long-closed ‘ghost’ distilleries in Scotland.
Expect notes of vanilla, honey and spice, and the taste of caramel, chocolate and hazelnuts. ABV is 40%.
Angel, who takes her inspiration from different generations, genders and cultures, said of her design: “There’s a defiant energy to my illustrations which bring to life the vibrant spirit of the rabbit as it leaps across the design, symbolising how we need to keep moving forward, spreading goodness throughout the year to come.”
The Blue Label Lunar New Year Limited-Edition bottle sells for £209.99, and is available from Malts.com, while stocks last.
