High-performance Hi-Fi maker Cyrus Audio has come up with a great idea for these challenging times, announcing a home trial for its ONE Series Hi-Fi amps. So you can upgrade your sound system without having to travel unnecessarily.

Included in the offer are the Cyrus ONE, ONE HD and ONE Cast amplifiers, as well as the ONE linear speaker system.

The idea is that you reach out to any of Cyrus’ participating UK dealers and arrange to borrow the kit, either with or without speakers, for a free 14 trial period, subject to a small deposit being taken.

This also allows you to audition the Cyrus system in situ, as well compare it to any existing audio products you already have.

“The relaxation a good music system can provide has never been so important,” says Cyrus Audio’s MD, Simon Freethy. “With large numbers of people being asked to work from home or self-isolating, we want to ensure they have the opportunity for the escapism of music, without the stress of having to directly visit a hi-fi retailer.”

He points out that as UK Hi-Fi dealers have seen a dramatic fall in customer visits, Cyrus  “wanted to develop a programme which allowed our retailers to continue to provide all the added value services they offer above online stores, such as demonstration facilities as well as one to one advice, without the customer physically having to visit the store“.

If you’re looking to modernise an existing stereo system, but don’t want to change your loudspeakers, the Cyrus One Cast well worth an audition.

The trade has thrown their support behind the idea. “It’s an excellent promotion and I’m prepared  to get behind it. The timing is very appropriate, ” says Geoff Matthews, Soundcraft, Ashford, Kent

“Great initiative from Cyrus making it easy to experience the latest in British Hi Fi in their own home,” adds Rupert James, of James-Morrow Home Entertainment Systems Edinburgh.

“I think the home trial promotion is an excellent idea.  While people are reluctant or not able to visit the store, we can bring the store to them by this home demo offer. This commitment to customer service is considerate to the current situation and reaches out to those who want to enjoy a great sounding Hi Fi whilst at home,” concludes David Tyson, of Peter Tyson Carlisle.

The Once Cast has an HDMI input for TV use

The Cyrus One Series combines compact iconic design with leading edge electronics.

The standard £699 Cyrus ONE integrated amplifier has multiple analogue inputs, as well as an integrated, high-quality phono-stage for direct connection of a turntable. The £999 ONE HD adds digital inputs and Bluetooth aptX.

Our favourite is the new £1, 295 ONE Cast, which has built-in Google Cast, Apple Airplay, and Alexa, as well as an HDMI ARC input, so that it can be hooked up to a TV. If you’re looking to modernise an existing stereo system, but don’t want to change your loudspeakers, it’s well worth an audition.

Of course, if you need speakers, Cyrus has the ONE linear, a compact model with a Kevlar bass driver and soft-dome tweeter (£849 with a Cyrus One).
