Far Eastern style at the Asia Gardens Hotel and Thai Spa Benidorm

Offering a taste of Asia just a stone’s throw from Benidorm, the Asia Gardens Hotel and Thai Spa is a glorious five star escape.

Located 35 miles from Alicante airport, in Finestram, on the pine grove slopes of Sierra Cortina, it features lush gardens and Asian architecture.

The main lobby embraces a Balinese style, with vaulted ceiling and multiple staircases which lead down to restaurants and gardens.

The hotel is heavy with East Asian motifs, but it doesn’t feel like a theme park. The ambiance is reassuringly premium. The spa offers several Thai therapies, including nuad nam mum massages, Yoga and meditation.

The hotel features 289 rooms and 22 suites. Our room was airy and spacious, with a high standard of fixtures and fittings. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom with double basins, huge. Our balcony opened up into a small garden.

The gardens boast 60 species of flowers and trees, but to see them all you’ll need to take the long way round to the Zen snack bar. There are water features all over, with Koi ponds to peruse, as well as several swimming infinity pools. In the distance you can see the blue waters of the Mediterranean.

A network of interlinked pools

The quality of food is high, offering a good mix of Spanish and Eastern cuisines. The sprawling breakfast is an adventure in itself, with freshly cooked steaks.

Feeling sporty? There’s two Jack Nicklaus-designed 18 hole golf courses. A kids club is available for younger guests.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this premium resort. Offering a luxury East Asian experience just a few hours flight from London, the Asia Gardens Hotel warrants two thumbs up.
