A new partnership aims to make electric fleet charging easier to manage by connecting home, workplace, public and depot charging through a single platform.
Humax EV Charging and commercial fleet charging specialist Paua have joined forces to tackle one of the more practical challenges facing businesses as they transition to electric vehicles: keeping track of where vehicles charge and accurately reimbursing drivers for electricity used at home.
The partnership combines Humax’s MX7 smart charger with Paua’s fleet charging platform. The Humax MX7 is Vehicle-to-Grid ready and uses ISO 15118 technology to identify compatible company vehicles when they are connected at home. This allows Paua to capture charging data and calculate reimbursement from actual energy consumption.
For fleet operators, the attraction is a reduction in administration. Drivers will no longer need to submit manual charging records, estimate mileage or navigate separate expense claims. The system is also designed to distinguish company vehicle charging from private household EV use, and attribute the relevant energy costs accordingly.

Making a connected EV charging network
Humax and Paua are aiming to bring different charging environments into one connected ecosystem. Fleet managers can access charging activity, costs and reporting from a central platform, giving businesses a clearer picture of how their charging infrastructure is being used.
“As more businesses electrify their fleets, we’re seeing a growing shift towards drivers charging their vehicles at home,” said Jeff Kim, president of Humax. “It’s more convenient for drivers, reduces downtime and makes day-to-day fleet operations more efficient.”
He added that home charging creates its own administrative problems, particularly when businesses need to establish which vehicle was charged and how much electricity was consumed. “Together, we’re making home charging reimbursement simpler, more accurate and fully automated, while giving fleet operators greater confidence and visibility into charging activity across their fleets.”
The MX7 is designed as the hardware component of that system. Paua will provide the fleet-focused software and charging infrastructure layer.
“Electric fleet charging cannot be solved one location at a time,” said Niall Riddell, CEO and co-founder of Paua. “Drivers charge at home, at work, on the public network and increasingly at shared depots. Fleets need those environments connected, not four separate systems held together by spreadsheets.”
Humax says it plans to add a 22kW AC charger for workplace and depot applications later this year that will use the same vehicle identification technology, allowing charging sessions to be linked automatically to individual vehicles across different charging locations.
