English wine producer Gusbourne is marking two decades of winemaking with an exceptionally limited Cellar Release, opening its library of historic vintages to members for the first time.
Comprising around 250 bottles drawn from tiny parcels held back over 20 years, the collection offers wine collectors and enthusiasts a chance to own some of the estate’s rarest sparkling wines, including just four bottles from its inaugural 2006 vintage.
The release celebrates the journey Gusbourne has taken since planting its first vines in 2004 with the ambition of producing world-class sparkling wine. At the heart of the collection is the Blanc de Blancs 2006, crafted from the estate’s founding harvest. With only four bottles available, it’s one of the rarest wines ever offered directly by the Kent producer.

Every wine in the Cellar Release shares an unusual distinction. Each bottle was disgorged on March 23 2026 before being hand-labelled with Gusbourne’s new Cellar Release design.
The release spans multiple vintages, offering a snapshot of the changing seasons, vineyard practices and winemaking decisions that have shaped Gusbourne since its earliest days. As with all the estate’s wines, each bottle reflects a single vintage, preserving the character of an individual growing season rather than blending across multiple years.
For Chief Vineyard Manager Jon Pollard, the 2006 vintage represents the beginning of a remarkable journey. He recalls harvesting the first fruit from the Butness vineyard before watching the estate grow through both challenging and rewarding seasons.
“There’s something in every vintage,” says Pollard. “You try things, you learn from them, you fine-tune them. Then another year comes along and teaches you something else.”
The Cellar Release has been designed exclusively for Gusbourne members, with the estate adopting a dedicated online sales window to ensure every member has an equal opportunity to purchase the wines. Many exist in single-digit quantities.
