Bourbon and barbering come together in a new collaboration that pairs Kentucky whiskey with contemporary men’s grooming.

The Luxe Review attended the launch of the collaboration at Ruffians Shoreditch in East London, where we were treated to a grooming makeover and cocktail masterclass.

Old Fashioned style

Produced by Heaven Hill Distillery in Kentucky, Elijah Craig is often referred to as the original bourbon. The brand takes its name from Reverend Elijah Craig, the 18th-century Baptist preacher and entrepreneur traditionally associated with the introduction of ageing whiskey in new charred oak barrels, a technique that would become central to bourbon production.

The Elijah Craig x Ruffians Gift Set combines a full bottle of Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon with two of Ruffians’ signature styling products: Matte Clay and Sea Salt Spray.

Bottled at 47% ABV, Elijah Craig Small Batch is matured in Level 3 charred oak barrels, and offers classic Kentucky bourbon notes of warm spice, vanilla and caramel. It’s definitely a cut above.

The Elijah Craig x Ruffians Gift Set is available now through Hard To Find Whisky, priced at £49.95 while stocks last.
