GX Superyachts says its first yacht, the 42-metre GX42, is on course for launch at the start of summer, as construction moves into its final phase.

New build images show the yacht evolve from engineering project to floating luxury residence, with the lower-deck accommodation and engine room now all but complete, and the finishing work beginning to reveal the design personality promised by the studio of Marco Casali.

The Slovenia‑based superyacht brand, created by the team behind Greenline Yachts, offers 24–56‑metre aluminium yachts that combine luxury design with advanced hybrid propulsion, solar integration, and ultra‑quiet operation.

The GX42 Coupe is being built for a private client. It’s due to make its worldwide debut at the Monaco Yacht Show, which runs September 25 – 28.

A debut yacht taking shape

The latest stage of the build marks an important milestone for the team behind the project, with much of the structural and interior joinery work now in place.

Guest accommodation on the lower deck is close to completion, with furniture and cabinetry largely finished, alongside the guest bathrooms. The main focus is now the owner’s suite on the main deck and the large saloon, which has been conceived as the yacht’s principal social space.

On the sun deck, the teak surface has been installed and is awaiting final caulking. Furniture, including sofas and tables, is incoming, with a large Jacuzzi due to be fitted as the centrepiece of the entertainment area.

Electronic and electrical systems are progressing in the wheelhouse below.

Maurizio Magri, Chief Commercial Officer at GX Superyachts, said: “Build progress for the GX42 is right on target. Ahead of a summer launch, we are entering the exciting final phase of detailed interior fit out, which means that we can finally see the finished yacht coming to life.”

He added: “The way this mould-breaking project has unfolded is a testament to the dedication and expertise of all those involved. It will be a moment of real pride when we unveil the boat at the Monaco Yacht Show for her worldwide debut.”

Marco Casali’s design vision comes into focus

The interior design of the GX42 is being led by Marco Casali, whose concept for the yacht centres on the idea of a relaxed family cruiser with a distinctly modern Italian feel.

Natural tones and tactile materials sit at the heart of the concept, chosen to echo the yacht’s eco-conscious performance credentials. Rich walnut panelling wraps walls and cabinetry, offset by white leather, lacquer finishes and crisp Italian upholstery fabrics that lend the rooms a cool Riviera freshness.

Casali said: “To see the interior that we designed being brought to tangible life is deeply satisfying. We always set a high hurdle for superyacht finish and precise detailing, but this first yacht from GX Superyachts is something else again. It’s a real manifesto for quality.”

Built for Mediterranean living

The first GX42 is expected to spend the opening season of its yachting life in the western Mediterranean, a natural setting for a vessel designed around open-air entertaining and family cruising.

The sun deck, with its teak flooring, lounge furniture and Jacuzzi, is likely to become a focal point for life on board, while the spacious saloon and owner’s suite reinforce the yacht’s role as a floating private retreat.

The Slovenian yard says it is continuing development of stablemate Voyager 38 and Voyager 45 boats, while future GX35 and GX50 models are also in the pipeline, pointing to a broader family of low-profile, hybrid propulsion superyachts.
