Move over Sherlock. Disney+ has confirmed that Only Murders in the Building will return for a sixth season, and this time, everyone’s favourite true-crime trio is crossing the pond. That’s right: Charles, Oliver, and Mabel (Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez) are swapping the Upper West Side for the streets of London, where a fresh murder mystery awaits.
The Emmy-winning comedy, which blends razor-sharp wit with genuine whodunnit intrigue, has built a devoted following for its deft mix of satire, warmth, and just the right amount of chaos.
Season five introduced new characters and more than a few dramatic gasps.
But for season six, the sleuths are packing their trench coats and recording gear for an all-new adventure in the capital, and if past seasons are any indication, expect a parade of big-name cameos from British talent.
Details of the London storyline remain tightly under wraps, but with the series’ history of lovingly lampooning theatre culture, podcast fandom, and New York neuroses, it’s easy to imagine Only Murders turning its quick wit to London’s West End, the city’s grand hotels, or perhaps a historic townhouse hiding dark secrets behind double-glazed windows.
Could there be a corpse at Claridge’s? A clue on the Tube? We’d listen to that podcast.
Season five featured an all-star ensemble including Meryl Streep, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Nathan Lane, Bobby Cannavale, Renée Zellweger, Christoph Waltz, and Keegan-Michael Key. With the move across the Atlantic, it’s fair to expect a British invasion of the guest list.

Five London locations we’d love to see the trio investigate
As Only Murders in the Building heads across the pond, the possibilities for intrigue, and impeccable knitwear, are endless. It’s almost a given that our sleuths will make a pilgrimage to 221b Bakers Street, and the Sherlock Holmes Museum – but if we could script a few of Charles, Oliver, and Mabel’s London stops, here’s where we’d start…
The Savoy Hotel
A natural fit for a show that loves old-world glamour and complicated theatre people. Between the marble halls, the Art Deco bar, and a suspiciously quiet pianist, The Savoy could host a murder mystery that practically writes itself.
The West End
Oliver Putnam would surely feel at home here, in fact, he might even direct a doomed revival before the curtain literally falls. Picture it: a ghost light, a missing lead, and an incriminating Playbill.
Notting Hill
Mabel, ever the trendsetter, would absolutely end up in a chic flat off Portobello Road, sipping oat lattes while editing a podcast about the Murder at the Market. A cameo from a floppy-haired British actor feels inevitable.
The British Museum
A setting made for Steve Martin’s understated deadpan. Imagine the trio bumbling through marble corridors, setting off alarms, and discovering a clue beneath an ancient sarcophagus. Bonus points for a classic Oliver meltdown.
The London Underground
There’s something delightfully cinematic about a chase through London’s iconic underground tunnels. We can already hear the sound mix: Mabel’s voiceover, Oliver shouting about escalator etiquette, and Charles trying to get mobile signal on the Jubliee line.
Wherever they land, one thing’s certain: Only Murders in the Building will find a way to make London just as stylishly strange – and full of heart – as New York’s Arconia.
Created by Steve Martin and John Hoffman (Grace & Frankie, Looking), the show remains a standout for Disney+’s growing line-up of prestige comedies. Only Murders in the Building season six will consist of 10 episodes and will stream exclusively on Disney+ in the UK.
Disney+ subscriptions start at £5.99 per month, offering everything from Star Wars and Marvel to The Simpsons, National Geographic, and an ever-expanding library of originals.
