Campbeltown distillery Glen Scotia has revealed an exceptional one-off collection of vintage whiskies for The Distillers One of One Auction, taking place at Hopetoun House on October 10 2025.
The Glen Scotia Four Quarters lot comprises four unique 25-year-old single malts, each distilled in November 1999, a pivotal year in Glen Scotia’s history marking its reopening under Loch Lomond Distillers, following a period of closure.
Collectively, the whiskies celebrate Campbeltown’s Victorian heritage and its historic role in maritime trade, which brought an array of cask types to Scotland’s whisky capital in the 19th century.
Each of the four expressions was matured or finished in a different type of cask once associated with Campbeltown’s trading past.
Founded in 1832, Glen Scotia remains one of only three surviving distilleries in Campbeltown, maintaining much of its original 19th-century architecture and traditions.

The Glen Scotia Four Quarters in depth
The Glen Scotia Four Quarters One of One lot features four unique 25-year-old single malts, celebrating Glen Scotia and Campbeltown’s Victorian heritage and global influence.
The first single malt in the set, the Glen Scotia 1999 Vintage American Oak Cask (51.9% ABV), has been fully matured in a refill bourbon barrel since November 29 1999, and boasts classic Campbeltown maritime character.
Distilled on the same date, Glen Scotia 1999 Vintage Rum Cask Finish (56.6% ABV) was initially matured in a refill bourbon barrel before a two-year finish in a first fill Caribbean rum cask.
The Glen Scotia 1999 Vintage Oloroso Cask Finish (52.9% ABV), distilled seven days previously, spent over two decades in a refill bourbon barrel before a three-year finish in a first fill Oloroso hogshead.
The final expression, a Glen Scotia 1999 Vintage Pedro Ximénez Cask Finish (52.8% ABV), was matured in a refill bourbon barrel, then finished for four years in a first fill Pedro Ximénez hogshead; it was also distilled November 22 1999.
The Four Quarters set is accompanied by a bespoke presentation created in collaboration with Hamilton & Inches, the Edinburgh-based jeweller and silversmith. Each 30 per cent lead crystal Glencairn decanter is engraved with gold infill and topped with a brass-collared stopper bearing a gold-plated sterling silver coin detailing the cask type and number.
The decanters are housed in an oak display cabinet with intricate brass inlays depicting the ‘four quarters’ of the world, a nod to Campbeltown’s historic trade links. Inside, the cabinet features a soft fabric lining, with individual leather cradles for each decanter. A concealed drawer contains an engraved brass plaque telling the collection’s story.
A collector’s masterpiece
Estimated at £7,000–£14,000, the Four Quarters will be auctioned alongside other unique Scotch whiskies at The Distillers One of One Auction October 10. Proceeds benefit The Distillers’ Charity, supporting the Youth Action Fund, which helps disadvantaged young people in Scotland build skills and opportunities for the future.
