Following its initial launch in South Africa last year, Jameson Triple Triple Chestnut whiskey is now available in the UK, and we’re already salivating at the prospect of its nutty sweetness.
Hailing from the Midleton Distillery, County Cork, the new expression is a novel take on the signature Jameson style, elevated by its triple cask maturation.
This is the second Jameson Triple Triple release, following on from an exclusive offering in travel retail, which saw ex-Bourbon and Oloroso Sherry casks meet Málaga wine casks.
The whiskey is triple distilled and blended from a combination of both ex-Bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, with the intriguing addition of hand-selected sweet chestnut casks.
The latter is said to contribute notes of toffee, cacao and toasted almonds.

Jameson Triple Triple Chestnut Tasting Notes
Bottled at an ABV of 40%, the expression reportedly offers aromas of toffee fudge, vanilla, and hazelnut chocolate, while subtle fruit notes, of sweet pear and green apple, linger in the background.
On the palate, expect luscious creamy fudge and vanilla, with mild nutty undertones, toasted wood and gentle spices. The finish lingers, before exiting to oak and chestnut.
Master Distiller Kevin O’Gorman explains: “At Jameson, we’ve known that good things come in threes ever since John Jameson introduced the world to triple-distilled Jameson Irish Whiskey. Jameson Triple Triple Chestnut Edition is no exception to this rule. Our single pot still and single grain Irish whiskeys have been further enhanced through a combination of triple cask maturation to create an exciting new taste experience.
“Sweet Chestnut wood imparts rich notes of chocolate and fudge, adding a luxurious layer to Jameson whiskey’s much-loved character, making it an excellent new addition to the family.”
