Orient Star M42 Diver watch: build and functionality

Following in the footsteps of the Diver 1964 1st Edition released in 2021, the 2nd Edition forms part of Orient Star’s Sports Collection M42, named after the Orion Nebula, a celestial nod to Poseidon, the mythological god of the sea. This lineage reflects a commitment to crafting high-performance divers’ watches that honour tradition while embracing innovation.

Crafted from titanium, the M42 Diver 1964 is approximately 35 per cent lighter than its stainless steel counterparts. A protective coating enhances the material’s hardness, ensuring it can withstand the harshest environments, from the depths of the sea to rugged terrains.

Additionally, titanium’s corrosion resistance, hypoallergenic properties, and ability to endure exposure to seawater and sweat make it a superior choice for a divers’ watch.

The case, measuring 41mm wide, 49.6mm long and 14.3mm thick, is paired with a dual-curved sapphire crystal featuring an anti-reflective coating for optimal clarity. The titanium bracelet, measuring 20mm, boasts a tri-fold deployant buckle with a push button and security latch, as well as a diver’s extension for added versatility.

Each watch is uniquely identified by a serial number engraved on the case back, reinforcing its status as a collector’s item.

With only 365 pieces available worldwide, the M42 Diver 1964 2nd Edition F6 Date 200m Titanium is priced at £1,230, and is available now.
