The Last Dram: Glencairn Glass launches chilling new Scottish crime fiction anthology

The Last Dram book and whisky on table

The Glencairn Glass, beloved by whisky enthusiasts worldwide, has just launched The Last Dram, an anthology of crime fiction short stories written by rising stars in the genre.

Compiled from entries to the Glencairn Glass Crime Short Story competition, this tome tells tales of suspense, revenge, and dark humour, crafted by 16 new authors.

Since 2020, Glencairn Glass has been a champion of Scottish crime literature, partnering with awards like the McIlvanney and Bloody Scotland Debut prizes. In 2021, it launched the Glencairn Glass Crime Short Story Competition to encourage both established and up and coming authors to share their chilling tales.

This tome tells tales of suspense, revenge, and dark humour crafted by 16 talented authors…

Edited by Scottish crime author Heather J. Fitt, The Last Dram delivers a feast of fiendish suspense with tales ranging from grisly murders to twisted revenge. Readers will find themselves immersed in stories like that of a food blogger who turns on her abusive husband, and a Skye tour guide who serves his unruly tourists a gruesome fate.

Kirsty Nicholson, Design and Marketing Manager at Glencairn Crystal, expressed her excitement about the collection: “We’ve been blown away by the outstanding quality of the stories that have been entered into our Glencairn Glass Crime Short Story Competition over the last few years. A fine dram of whisky in a Glencairn Glass is the perfect accompaniment to settling down with a good book over the winter months; The Last Dram also provides the perfect Christmas gift for those friends and relatives who are difficult to buy for!”

All profits till Christmas go to supporting Maggie’s, a cancer care charity providing essential services across the UK.

The Last Dram e-book sells for £5.99, the print edition is £9.99. A special set, including the print book and two Glencairn glasses, is available for £25.99. All can be purchased through the Glencairn Glass website.
