SharkNinja confirms UK launch for viral sensation Ninja SLUSHi frozen drink maker

Ninja Slushi at IFA 2024

Ninja SLUSHi, the frozen drinks maker that went viral upon launch in the US, is heading to Britain. SharkNinja confirmed a November launch for the fun kitchen appliance, at the IFA Berlin tech fair last week.

The slushy maker is able to create a commercial-grade frozen drink, without ice, in as little as 30 minutes. There’s no need to pre-freeze ingredients. Just pour liquid into the container, select from one of five presets, and in as little as 30 minutes, your perfect frozen beverage will be ready. Post party clean-up is reportedly quick and simple.

Users can make individual servings, or enough to delight party guests using its XL capacity. The Ninja SLUSHi will maintain drinks at optimum temperature and texture for 12 hours.

Create custom frozen cocktails and frappés at home

Ninja SLUSHi owners are encouraged to experiment with different liquids and flavour combinations.

Popular recipies include coffee frappés, frozen cocktails, milk shakes, and classic soda-flavoured slushies. Basically any liquid, as long as it contains sugar, can be poured into the device and turned into an icy treat.

SharkNinja says that its core engineering team effectively became experts in AC refrigeration, to develop the RapidChill technology required for the gadget, taking its prototype through eight transformative builds.

The Ninja SLUSHi RapidChill system freezes liquid evenly and maintains the optimal temperature, allowing users to create customised frozen drinks tailored to any preferred temperature, thickness, flavour, and consistency.

I tried out the Ninja SLUSHi at the IFA show and confirm the resulting ice was full of flavour, and had an authentic slushy consistency. With no ice required, my drinks remained undiluted and tasty.

My Ninja SLUSHi may have been fruit flavoured but it left me with a hankering to create some classic frozen cocktails. “Empty a bottle of rosé wine into it, and you’ll get a frozé out” I was told. Consider me inspired.

The Ninja SLUSHi price is TBA.
