Brugal, the Dominican ultra-premium rum brand, has released its latest flagship liquid, Maestro Reserva, crafted with a unique technique known as Dark Aromatic Toasting, developed exclusively by Brugal.
This method involves ageing the rum in premium American oak sherry casks, followed by an immediate toasting of the emptied casks. The rum is then reintroduced to absorb the delicate caramel pearls, and carefully aged under the Dominican sun, resulting in unparalleled smoothness and richness.
A permanent addition to the Brugal family, this exceptional sipping rum is hailed as the culmination of five generations of Maestros Roneros and 135 years of rum mastery.

Jassil Villanueva Quintana, fifth-generation Maestra Ronera and a member of the Brugal family, led the creation of Maestro Reserva, infusing the rum with her passion and expertise.
“My hope is that Maestro Reserva graces all of life’s big celebrations, alongside cherished ones, forging moments that will endure for centuries to come,” she says.
Bottled at 41.2% ABV, Maestro Reserva is presented in a bespoke glass decanter, its natural caramel hues hinting at the indulgent experience within. Best enjoyed neat or over ice, the rum reportedly offers an oaky aroma, accented by red fruits and a subtle hint of smoke. On the palate, flavours of vanilla, caramel, and dark chocolate emerge, are complemented by notes of dried fruits and toasted nuts.

The debut bottling arrives as the Crǣft Series, a collection of three single cask whiskies that offer an early glimpse…
