Cambridge Audio hits 88 mph with DeLorean special edition Evo 150 Hi-Fi streaming system

Cambridge Audio has released a DeLorean branded edition of its Evo all-in-one integrated amplifier and network music player.

The Evo 150 DeLorean Edition comes with two body kits. Interchangeable magnetic side panels give listeners a change of styling within seconds, with two DeLorean-themed panel options in the box.

One pays homage to the 80s classic design of the DMC-12 grille and logo, made famous in the Back to the Future movie series, while the other emulates the brushed metal panels and logo of the forthcoming DeLorean Alpha 5 sports car

Cambridge Audio was confirmed as the audio supplier for the Alpha 5 electric car back in 2022.

Under the Evo 150’s bonnet is a racy 150W amplifier and there’s a built in MM phono stage for those going back to the future with vinyl. Ensuring the highest fidelity is a ESS SABRE ES9018k2m Reference DAC.

Just add loudspeakers and you’re ready to go; Cambridge suggests its Evo S bookshelf stereo speakers.

The front fascia of the streamer features a dual-concentric rotary dial and large 6.8-inch LCD panel, to show off digital album artwork in full colour.

Bluetooth aptX HD is supported for hi-res playback from compatible devices. Physical connectivity includes XLR balanced inputs, for pairing with high-end analogue components. There’s also support for Google Home, Apple Airplay and Roon multiroom systems.

The Evo 150 DeLorean Edition has fully integrated internet radio and music streaming services, accessible via the StreamMagic app.

“From Day One, the relationship between our two brands has been fuelled by a bold attitude and an emotional connection to the music we all love,” says James Johnson-Flint, owner of Cambridge Audio.

“DeLorean evokes genuine passion, and mirrors Cambridge’s approach to music in everything it does. This special edition of one of our most loved products reveals the bare bones of the Evo 150 in all its glory and reflects the design attributes that have made DeLorean iconic.”

“We are super excited to continue our partnership with Cambridge. Both our brands have put their stamp on the past and are still committed to defining the future,” explains Cameron Wynne, Chief Brand Officer for DeLorean.

“Motoring and music have always gone hand in hand. This DeLorean Edition is the perfect way to show your love of both, even when you’re not enjoying the open road.”

The Cambridge Audio Evo 150 DeLorean Edition is priced at £2,099 (€2,499/$3,199).
