Online spirits marketplace Metacask has partnered with Irish whiskey brand Grace O’Malley, to sell a unique 501 bottle collection of 13-year-old Amarone grain Irish Whiskey.
Each bottle has been hand painted by Dublin-based artist KinMx, and comes with NFT authentication.
‘The Grace’ mural was originally designed and painted by KinMx on Aungier Street in Dublin City. KinMx then recreated the artwork across a canvas of five hundred Grace O’Malley Whiskey bottles, and it’s these that comprise this unique collection.
Each bottle is individually numbered and can be purchased as an NFT on the Metacask platform. Prices start at €450/$450.
Collectors can choose to hold the product digitally, trade it or redeem the NFT from December 1 2023, receiving the physical bottle in time for Christmas.
Each individually numbered bottle is part of a unique artwork, and can be purchased as an NFT…
Each bottle in ‘The Grace’ collection contains Grace O’Malley thirteen-year-old Single Grain Irish Whiskey, which has been aged in American bourbon casks and then transferred to Amarone Della Valpolicella barrels for six months, resulting in a rich fruity flavour profile. It’s been bottled at 46% ABV.
Master Blender Paul Caris selected the cask during his visits to the stunning Veneto region, in the foothills of The Alps.
Each item sold on the marketplace is accompanied by an NFT or Digital Deed that represents the product on the blockchain, which replaces the traditional Proof of Ownership Certificate.
As each bottle is enabled with Near-Field Communication (NFC) technology, collectors can tap their bottle with a smartphone to verify ownership, and unlock the artwork.
Proceeds from bottle sales go directly to the Irish Art Community.
