New Spinnaker Croft Mid-Sized Skeletons are too stylish for the closet

The Spinnaker Croft Mid-Size Skeleton watch up close

Spinnaker has announced a new set of limited edition Croft Mid-Size Skeleton Automatic timepieces, and not to make bones about it, they’re rather smart.

Restricted to just 600 units (last year’s mid-sized batch numbered 1,000 units), the new SP-5095 dive watch comes individually numbered, and stands as an impressive example of watch-making fabrication and assembly.

With its eye-catching skeletonized multi-layered dial and unidirectional bezel, this newcomer wants to catch the eye. It’s more sports blazer than scuba suit. The applied indexes are washed in Swiss Super-LumiNova, as are the hands, to ensure visibility against the busy background, and there’s a screw-down crown at 3 o’clock.

At its heart is a Seiko NH70 TMI skeletonised self-winding automatic movement, the delightful intricacy of its Japanese mechanics laid bare for all to see.

The watch features a 40mm 316L stainless steel case, and scratch resistant sapphire lens with an anti-reflective coating. The 20mm wide strap is matching stainless steel. Water resistance is standard at 15 ATM.

The Croft Mid-Size Skeleton Automatic is available in four colourways: the Steel Rose Gold SP-5095-33 is priced at £400 ($465 / €445), while the Carbon Steel, Medallion Black and Stealth Black SP-5095-22/-44/-55 models are £425 ($495 / €475).

The range is available from October 2 2022, at Spinnaker watches.
