Swedish audio outfit Transparent lights our fire with Bluetooth Light Speaker lantern

Innovative Swedish audio brand Transparent has launched the Light Speaker, a portable Bluetooth speaker designed as a traditional outdoor lantern, complete with glowing, natural light.

The lamp mimics the look and feel of real flames, from the light temperature and brightness, to a characteristic flicker that glows with your music.

As well as being able to adjust the sound, users are offered an additional directional knob which allows them to alter light intensity, from flickering candlelight to bright white reading light.

Battery life is said to be 10 hours, with a detachable handle for easy transportation. The lantern chassis is crafted with borosilicate glass with aluminium grills. It’s also IPX2 rated, so can be used indoors and out.

As well as being able to adjust the sound, users are offered an additional directional knob which allows them to alter light intensity…

The speaker delivers omnidirectional sound, with a 5W power output. It sports a 63.5mm full range driver, and passive 76mm passive radiator.

The company launched on kickstarter a decade ago, with its first Transparent Speaker, and will return to the platform to launch the Light Speaker.

Founded by Per Brickstad and Martin Willers, the Stockholm-based company specialises in sound systems with a strong interior design ethic. Its products are available from Mr Porter, The Conran Shop and Turntable Lab.

The Light Speaker is priced at £290, and is available from Transparent here.
